At least this gives me an excuse why I have 7 tins of chopped toms in cupboard (much to OH's dismay) and I seem to buy at least two a week lol. I keep telling him them they are cheap and can be used in all sorts of things, I rattled out my list last night
Chilli
Pasta bake
Spag bol
Curry
Stews
Soups
Anyone want to add to my list to back up my argument to dp ... I could make a week of meals with those tins lol
PS piglet don't hold your breath hun

You think your OH is dismayed- mine is virtually passed out on the floor :rotfl: because I've just come home with 48 tins of tomatoes (Netto, Princes Chopped Tomatoes 4 for 99p). Even though I've explained that even value tomatoes are around the 33p mark and so I've saved approx 8p per tin - he still doesn't get the stockpiling/buying whilst on offer thing
. He's got this same aversion to bulk buying toilet paper too - it's not like its not going to get used eventually, is it??.

Mine questioned the 4 packets of 9 toilet rolls I got today. I'm going to poundstretcher tomorrow for sugar, then Asda for butter and oats!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Poundland are currently doing 1½ kg sugar for - you guessed it £1 but it equates to about 67p a kilo which is about 20p cheaper a kilo than anywhere elseBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hello everyone
I absolutely do believe buying in bulk is worth it. For example, a few weeks ago my DS's fave breakfast cereal was on sale at Asda for a pound so every time I popped in I bought a couple. I now have TEN:o ! Saw them yesterday and they've gone up to £1.97 so that's a tenner saved right there
Also, my hugest bugbear is purchasing loo roll. Everywhere I go if I see a bargain (having checked with the price per roll with my phone calculator) I can't not buy it. Lidl a couple of weeks ago had Charmin and it was the equivalent I think of 21 pence per roll. I was ecstatic!!:D Normal purchase is somewhere between 40 and 50 per roll.
Also (yep I'm unburdening amongst kin folk here:rotfl: ) a couple of months ago Sainsbury had a sale on Daz soap powder. It was an obscenely small price like £1.70 for 2.5 kilo so I bought tons. They had DS fave ketchup (Daddies) on sale too so I bought tons of that.
Butterfly Brain above has set me off on a journey to Poundland today for sugar. I bake a fair bit so it'll come in useful.
The only question I have re this bulk buying malary is when do you stop buying a certain thing. The Coco Shreddies above stayed on sale for about 4 or 5 weeks but I had to stop availing myself.
Oh, one more "also". I also bought teabags yesterday because the thinking is that due to the hellish worldwide summer last year the price of tea will rise. So, I was in Morrisons and I saw Typhoo for £1.99 for 160, thought that was a bargain so bought 2. Then I happened upon 80 with 80 free Tetley for £1.78. Needless to say the Typhoo was replaced. If I could find my digital camera I'd give you a picture of my under-stairs cupboard, it makes me smileGrocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
