these things happen, just let it go, believe me the "inconvenience" they had caused you is nothing compared to the inconvenience you are causing yourself by dwellin on this and writing to them and what not, involving your family too as your hb wrote to them.
ive had a similar experience to this, I'm an asian male btw. I was going somehwere abroad, and got off the coach en route to the airport and some guy picked up my bag. I didnt realise at the time until I was the last guy waiting for my bag but it wasn't there, but smeone else's bag was there similar size to mine. I worked out that the other passenger picked up my bag.
So I went round the whole airport frantically searching for my bag, in a big panic. Then I started to noticed that everyone with walkie talkies in the airport was staring at me. They mustve thought i was a terorist or something onto something. I then found the guy with my bag and got it off him, his bag was with the bus driver.
I went through security, and I had one of the slowest and most meticulous body scans Ive ever seen.
I normally dont bother to empty my pockets and put everything, i keep my passport and some other small bits in my pocket (been through security so many times so I realise what the metal detector beeps on and what it ignores).
then the beep went off, and the guy was scanning each of my sterling coins one by one in case they might be some contraption, he also scanned my passport and earbuds. the body scanner he used on me at a snails pace all throughout my body, to the point where my arms were beginning to ache, holding them out.
It was an odd experience, but I didn't blame them for racially profilling or what not. I realise that I was giving off extremely suspicious signals from my behaviour and body language that it put them on alert.0 -
IMO, the OP is making a scene over nothing. She was stopped by security who were doing their job. what would you prefer, security stop people and check, or let everyone go through, honest shoppers AND thieves, which would mean the chain start losing money, which would mean the chain increase their prices?.... 30 Seconds of inconvenience, or a lot longer of higher food prices?
Most supermarkets do have some form of signage warning customers that security does operate in store etc. OP wrote to store AND head office, head office apologised on behalf of the store and the company. Job done.
Sounds to me like the OP is just compo chasing.
In a nut shell, get over it. you dont like it, shop somewhere else0 -

Well if it happened to me I would certainly be Compo chasing. If you don't complain when over enthusiastic security guards pounce, before you know it we will be guilty of everything and have to prove ourselves innocent.0 -

There's a difference between complaining and seeking financial redress.
This is exactly the reason police officers are so soft these days, the slightest incident can result in a legal battle!0 -

The difference is complaining has no effect, while a financial penalty directly impacts them for their actions.0 -
