How have I upset my friend?

I moaned about the fact that Pink Shrimps at the corner were increased from 0.5p to 1p each.
I've now aged, and nowadays moan about the fact that you can't get Pink Shrimps at the corner shop any more. There's a Haribo copy of them, but they're tiny and taste like flavoured rubber.0 -

I think these are proper shrimps (I bought bananas from this company and they were the old fashioned type) but £3.50 for 100g ...52% tight0 -
I love pink shrimps! I can just about remember 1/2 penny sweets, and also being mightily annoyed when they all went up to 1p, as my 10p spending money no longer went as far!
At least Space Raiders have only gone up to 15p in all these years. I think my earliest memory of them was when they were just 5p a bag!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

At last! Another person who was also traumatised by the high inflation of genuine pink shrimps!0 -

Wow, now that's just silly! She obviously had been wanting to say something for a while and it was the excuse. I wouldn't listen but I'd let her make the first move back.0

Dee, you sound a very thoughtful and compassionate person. Your long-standing friend reads as if she lives mainly for herself. Her complaints center on small things not done as she would have them done or arranged. All take and not much give in that one.
I hope when the next phone call comes, detailing her latest dissatisfaction in life, you are able to take ten minutes or so then tell her you are needed elsewhere, and ring off. It does not sound as if you particularly enjoy these rambling calls, so letting her know your time is precious too is not a bad thing.0 -
I have a coupon queen friend who meets up with me for coffee or something to eat every so often because she has a voucher.:D She normally texts me to say where it is we are going based on what offer she's currently found - it was breakfast at a nearby pub a few weeks ago. I don't mind at all, why would I? It means at most we pay 1/4 each (assumming a bogof deal). We've also commented on the price of drinks etc. I'm surprised this is an issue between long standing friends.
The waitress didn't help matters by not explaining the various coffees to you.
I would also expect a friend with Primary school aged kids to be leaving in time to pick them up. I can perhaps see your friend's point if you have 15 yo twins you dashed off to meet from school -unless you live in the sticks and their only other way of getting home was hitch-hiking.0 -

Brilliant! Where is the shop, and are they the old type?0 -
What I can't understand is why she sent you a card saying she had a nice time. Maybe a guilty conscience? I would just see what happens next and wouldn't be phoning her. As for coffee I quite often go into Costa but I actually prefer the coffee in Marks & Spencer.
I can't help thinking of the story about the Queen hosting a banquet for foreign dignataries. When the one sitting opposite the Queen picked up the finger bowl and drank from it. The Queen then did the same. That to me is the sign of a considerate person and your friend couldn't do it.0
