I deal with their parts dept ( Interpart ) in my shop.

I have been told that Interpart work on a MINIMUM 300 % margin on their parts. Your local engineer cannot buy them any cheaper really than You can direct, maybe he can make approx £20 or so on each part.

If you don't believe me, look at their year end reports and see what part of the business is propping up their vast profits/ Look at baxi's main website , you can trawl through and download their last reports.

Hi there,
I am late to this problem, having only been informed about it yesterday by our plumber during the annual inspection. Have been quoted £300 for a replacement, which seems in keeping with other peoples experiences.

We moved into our home on a Taylor Woodrow estate from new in late 2004 so would calculate that the boiler was installed sometime earlier in the year, well after this problem came to light.

We missed the Watchdog TV programmes and other forums so was a little miffed to put it mildly. The links to the watchdog website (circa 2007) no longer work so any advice on how to go about claiming back the cost. I intend to contact Potterton, if for no other reason than to register the issue, and will also get in touch with Taylor Woodrow and the NHBC as the property is still under warranty.
Will let you know how I get on.
