Who is this "we" that traded slaves ?
I never traded slaves and none of my ancestors certainly did not, in fact many lived no better themselves.
The "community" responsible for slave trading are well known and they can stick their collective blame right up there *%%** !

  • Blimey, interesting thread for the "House prices & the Economy board" .. I will probably vote for Carlos Cortiglia, The BNP candidate in the London mayoral elections, because I like them & there policies, Simplez , oh yes & im a "Racist, fascist" etc, whatever that means in modern Britain ..
Ill give you an example from yesterday. A foreigner breaks someone jaw in a fight "Cos he looked at me missus" or words to that effect, no jail at all, an inebriated student, who happens to be a "whitey" says something stupid on an internet message boards... 56 days in the nick ... Hmmmm .. ..
    ..
I like watching a guy on youtube, "Ramzpaul" ,A Humorous look at the Liberal mentality, here he is trying to get on one of thoes "Diversity" "Affirmative action" things in the states, Funny , for people who say its just the "color of someone's skin" , or "Once race the human race" , they do seem rather "racist" ..:rotfl:

we all learned that that is wrong I am glad that we figured out that trading and using slaves was wrong, nevermind all the revenue they generated, revenue that contributed to the wealth of so many British, Dutch and American families ; That welth was distributed to wider communities and therefore our ancestors benefited from the misery of so many ......

    ABSOLUTE AND UTTER BULL !
Blame those responsible, you weak and feeble attempt to proportion collective guilt when you dare not even name those responsible.

No it does not need more immigration, if we are short of certain skills in this country we then like it or not start looking into the 3 million unemployed(probably more than 5 million) pool of lost souls, and by hook or by crook we drag them into a an aspirational wanting world where they have some self belief and feelings of worth, we do not just give up on them and allow immigrants to flood our shores. We seriously need some tough love in this country, and why should we poach what could be badly needed doctors from third world countries that might badly need them also.

We have an educational system in this country that is second to none, it's time we become more self suffient with our own people.

Bringing and an expert indian cook or Polish landworker into an already over crowded UK is just not on, and I am aslo talking about the the more skilled as well.

Spend some time interviewing those poor souls, and you'll get a better idea of why we need highly skilled immigation.

I do completely agree though that allowing low skilled immigration is just stupid. A stop to that with some benefit cuts would be a start back to full employment.

    but their descendents are

as I said, I am glad that we, as a society, learned from mistakes; At least some of us learned......

A society that thinks indigenous people are good while immigrants are bad are not far away from a society that believed that whites are masters/nobles and blacks are slaves

By the way, responsible was greed and laziness and unfair advantages given by technology, culture and civilization........

    What a stupid statement,
The reason that most object to uncontrolled immigration, is that this country is currently paying benefits to around 3 million unemployed who are already here.
When the majority of them are in jobs then allow more workers into the country.
Colour does not come into it.

the 3 million unemployed unskilled and/or are unwilling or to lazy to re-train or re-locate to find proper work; The immigrants want to re-train (how many teachers or engineers from asia are working in retail or hotels?) and want to relocate because they want to work

This is why we have millions of immigrants and millions of unemployed.

Stop them from coming here, they will use their skills in other parts of the world and their products will be more competitive, in the end hard work will lead to success and protectionism will lead to failure
