I have joined the UKIP party

A "safety valve party" full of ex-tories and wash ups from other parties.
I find it quite perturbing when people post things like this. It takes a pretty foam-flecked loon to inhabit any of the main parties, so in what sense are UKIP members any more bonkers than someone who has decided to follow Milliband, Cameron or Clegg over the top to an abrupt intellectual death?0 -
A few years ago, the main parties became perturbed about others muscling in and indeed in quite a few places seats were nearly lost by some parties as populists policies on immigration and the EU faltered at the vote.
Up rose UKIP, the "safety valve" a party of hangers on from the big 3, to soak up the threat towards of the cosy plan to sell this country down the river to the EU and distribute its wealth around those who have sat on their backsides whilst we worked.
UKIP will do nothing they promise except let the steam out.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I don't disagree with your low opinion of UKIPers. Equally, I don't see them as essentially any worse than Wet Tories, Labouristas or the Lib-Dumbs.0 -
Why will none of the main parties allow a referendum of EU membership, despite promising one?0
-
Because they would loose ?
And you do get a referendum, it is called the general election, all the parties make their position on Europe very clear in manifestos.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
they dont have to "discuss it" it is in the parties manifestos that they are committed to the EU, if you vote for them, you endorse this countries membership.
You can not have your cake and eat it.
Obviously the people of this country as a majority are very happy to be members of the EU and have voted accordingly.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Do you honestly believe that?
When there is no alternative to vote for, it proves nothing.
May be part of the reason that election turn outs tend to be less than 40%.
I believe you stated earlier that the likely reason why a referendun is never offered is that it may come out as a no vote.0 -
o create a 31% flat tax on all earned incomes over £11,500
Actually that is alone is enough to persuade me to vote for them. Currently 40% tax starts at ~£42k which is too low. A highest tax rate of 31% is excellent idea.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
This is an exiting and challenging age; We as a generation are richer than at any other times in history; we have more equality and more opportunities than ever.
The key that lead to this unprecedented success was cooperation, reason and respect; We learned from past mistakes, we learned from painful wars, from trading slaves, from excessively exploiting resources(not a lot about this, we are still learning about this), etc
We created a global environment in which anyone who is decent hardworking can achieve great success; Take China, South Korea, Japan, Germany, etc-- they were resilient, they passed dark ages and trough work and innovation they are thriving;
Recently Brazil's economy overtook UK economy;
UK has to be part of this exciting global community, there is no way it can thrive in isolation.
Have the example, 59 years passed since the Korean war; as a result of that war there ware 2 countries(identical demographics , shared culture, identical language etc).
- the one on the South, opened to new embraced competition, collaboration, immigration (from outside, skilled and unskilled) and latter become one of the great economic success
- the one in the North, isolated themselves, no immigration, no outside competition,
The same example you can see in Germany (East and West).
We are not leaving in Victorian times (or before) when Britain's "explorers" moved throughout the entire planet "collecting" the best resources and skills.
If UK is to be great again it has to work as hard as Asians, be as resilient as Africans, embrace new pragmatic ways of moving forward like Scandinavians, be precise as Germans, be wise with money like Jews and value(respect) all the good things are happening in society(including immigration);
scapegoating (immigration or globalization) will result in disappointment or further wars on this planet.0
