Thanks slag oil oops Spagbol, for taking on the challenge of doing the 2013 challenge. :j

I would like to stick with this challenge for 2013 rather than join another one, so I'll be here.

I'm not too fussed about my figures/totals/progression being charted on a spreadsheet, I'm quite happy to be responsible for my own recordings. I figure we've all got busy lives and I feel awkward putting that kind of responsibility onto someone else.

And finally, I think we should have new numbers (Jakes-mum's can be pre-allocated) as there has been the usual fallout.

Until then onward and upward with the 2012 challenge.

At no point have I suggested this should be exclusive and *purely* for Dec 2013-ers.

What I'm saying, and of course it's just my own humble opinion, is that we should have a thread identical to this one, but for Christmas 2013. This thread was started by Jemma to motivate people for becoming DF by Christmas 2012. Of course anyone is welcome, including longer-term DFWs, but I personally think it's really nice to have a thread with a definitive date as a target to work towards.

All I'm suggesting is that this thread has been a huge inspiration to many, and I would love to have an identical one for next year, irrespective of other 'pay as much as you can' threads that happen to be around.

Of course you are welcome to be a part of any thread. If no-one agrees with me, then by all means we can all jump on the POAMAYC bandwagon, but that would make me really sad because I like the 'Debt Free by Christmas' vibe that's been the focus of this thread.

I knew what you meant ;)

I'll still be here for next year's challenge, though hoping to be DF within a few months.

I don't really fancy joining a new group :o I like it in here so don't feel POAMAYC is for me so am in total agreement to have this rolled into a new year. Thanks Jemma for all of your work this last year and a bit, and to SpagBol for vounteering to take it on next year. :T:T

Thanks to you all for your advice regarding the wedding video. Need to sit and speak to DH about how we want to pursue this.
    xx

Aw I like being number 5, it's a nice looking number. Although other than seeing the "we've paid of x amount this month and x amount from the start of the challenge" I never look at the front page. Maybe we could have a monthly declaration day or something?

It's been a fairly spendy weekend, oops! I can't remember Friday night I did something and ended up at a friends house, but I cannot for the life of me remember what I did...I think I only had one cider. Oh I went rock climbing followed by going to a friends house after, I remember now! Saturday we went into town to see new friends baby (spending money on xmas pressie shopping and lunch oops!) followed by a rather rubbish party, followed by a pub, followed by everyone back to our house!!! Luckily we had a bottle of gin at home so no more than £20 was spent in total that night. Yesterday was a write off and more spending!!!

Hmm this has to stop, I have to save £10k next year I've promised myself. Oh but the OH has said I can get a cat :D well two cats, although I want pedigree ones so I now have to find the money for them! Easter me thinks!!!

Looking forward to staying with you all next year :)

    Hello all,

I take a week off work (and from the forums as I only really look at them at work) and the thread suddenly starts sprinting away. :D

I'm definitely in for next year, thanks SpagBol. Are we all starting afresh with our target amount?
:oI think I actually owe more now than my sig suggests as the CC has been hammered a bit recently and I've started to feel a bit lapdaisical about paying off my CC debt, need a new kick up the bum and think if I started back at 0% it might just give me that kick.:o
I think my CC stands at about £3000 to be honest. :(
Hope to be debt free by Easter but think June is more realistic (want to be DF by my 40th)

Eeek - I might have just spent over £60 by accident (really!)

I thought I was playing around with design options for a photobook on Je55ops and when I uploaded photos (to take a look, or so I thought) I got an email thanking me for my order  Sent an email back very swiftly to check no obligation (it's not actually processed payment....)

    Fingers crossed.... x
