I think the point of this thread is that, despite the name, it's been inclusive for everyone, irrespective of your level of debt and DFD, but if you are saying you want it *purely* for Dec 2013-ers, then I'll stick to POAMAYC 2013, as I will be on here until Dec 2015 at least! If the thread will continue to be for everyone, I'm happy to stay on here AND POAMAYC2013 at the same time.Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -

At no point have I suggested this should be exclusive and *purely* for Dec 2013-ers.
What I'm saying, and of course it's just my own humble opinion, is that we should have a thread identical to this one, but for Christmas 2013. This thread was started by Jemma to motivate people for becoming DF by Christmas 2012. Of course anyone is welcome, including longer-term DFWs, but I personally think it's really nice to have a thread with a definitive date as a target to work towards.
All I'm suggesting is that this thread has been a huge inspiration to many, and I would love to have an identical one for next year, irrespective of other 'pay as much as you can' threads that happen to be around.
Of course you are welcome to be a part of any thread. If no-one agrees with me, then by all means we can all jump on the POAMAYC bandwagon, but that would make me really sad because I like the 'Debt Free by Christmas' vibe that's been the focus of this thread.DFBX2013: 021 :j seriousDFW £0 [STRIKE] £3,374[/STRIKE] 100% Paid off

I'm sorry if I misunderstood what you wrote, but maybe you can see why I did? If that's not what you meant, then great, let's carry on as we did this year!Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -

Noooooooooo stick with us!Look at my signature, I'm at least 2014 whatever happens so I certainly don't expect anyone to have paid off anything in particular it's just a lovely community now. Even paying off a fiver a month is good as long as we're decreasing the debt so let's stick with it as it is and allocate new numbers. I will get some handy hints from Jemma and then start the new thread off over the xmas hols and post the link on here.
You all need to keep posting to keep me going for another year! I need every single one of you! :T
I think we should have a Christmas Party, sort of a "work do" so everyone grab a glass of wine and a cracker :xmassign: :xmastree: _party_DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -

Yes I agree this thread is the only one I've stuck to, the only one that has really kept me going and such a nice group. I suppose we will never know why it works but it does so let's plough on:xmastree:

I agree! I want everyone to stick around. I was getting nervous that this thread wouldn't be revived after Christmas and to be honest I don't want to go and join any other threads/challenges - I just want this one to carry on. I'm hoping to be DF by Feb 2013 but I think the Christmas 2013 date is a good target for lots of people, and even if you're not going to be DF by then, it's a good date to take stock and have an update.
I will definitely be here for 2013 so please issue me a number if/when you do new numbers! I am looking forward to the new thread being ready to go after Christmas so I can update and give my total that I need to clear in 2013.
Thanks SpagBol for taking over from Jemma, and just shout if there's anything I can do to help.DFBX2013: 021 :j seriousDFW £0 [STRIKE] £3,374[/STRIKE] 100% Paid off

POAMAYC2013 = Pay Off As Much As You Can 2013. This is slightly different to this thread, which was intended for getting ALL debt paid off by Christmas 2013. However, it evolved to include any DFWs who wanted to pay debt off! There's a bit of an overlap, and there are people on here who knew they wouldn't pay off everything by Christmas 2012 (me included) but it seemed to work wellDFBX2013: 021 :j seriousDFW £0 [STRIKE] £3,374[/STRIKE] 100% Paid off
