  • helenpie I agree with jakes-mum, ask for 50% back, as you only got 50% of the service, and if he refuses, take him to small claims for the full amount. You can also ask a solicitor to write on your behalf, it will cost you money, but sometimes the cost doesn't matter, it's the principle!

Kerri I know what you mean, I always try to turn up in my tattiest jeans and most baubly cardigan! When I showed up on their doorstep, I was in work clothes though, which have to be in 1 piece, so prob did look a bit richer than I am! I did try to get my housemate to show me how to do spark plugs, but we looked for 10 minutes and couldn't find them. Apparently this make needs a long armed wrench to reach... I won't pay someone else to do it again, just this time, by the time I knew it was spark plugs, the car was already in.

Had some good news at work today; my big project deadline has been pushed back 3 months, which will actually give us enough time to do the work! It was due first week in January, and I was so stressed about it, I was going to take some of it home for Christmas. Now I get to enjoy my 2 weeks off :j

My poor little girl is full up with cold, shes been off for 2 days and we allowed her to go in today against our better judgement as she cried so much when we asked her if she was sure she wanted to go in this morning, but this evening shes got a couple of blisters round her mouth and now im worried it might be impetigo  They have come up in the last 3 hrs (def were not there this morning or when I picked her up) and do have a mustardy colour to them :(

So shes off again tomorrow (cried again when I told her) and ive got to book her into the docs first thing and ask them to quarantine us just incase my suspicions are correct :(

On the plus side, being at home with a sick kid means ive spent hardly any money this week, only £30 today as I needed essentials and had to buy some of those kleenex balm tissues for her as her nose is so sore.

Well on the bright side, if it is impetigo, she will be near enough clear of it by Christmas day, but on the downside it will mean she wont be back at school this term and will miss her school nativity (which she had a speaking part for :() as the quarantine time is 2 weeks if I remember correctly from when her brother had it 4 years ago

I had a full on strop today! The xmas tree went missing, then turned up broken, waiting for it to be sent back. So felt completely disappointed and deflated as was really looking forward to putting up our first tree together....so I went out to Mr A for lights and Mr Agoose for an 8ft tree, mr n3xt for some nice baubles and now we have a lovely HUGE tree for the same price as the japanese one I wanted. I can't quite get the picture to show lights on, so this is the before picture.

  • One of my old school friends was just awarded a nice bit of compensation after finding that b-card had not conformed to the credit act when he signed up with them. I'm giving it a read, and thought I'd let you lot have a gander too.

We have water coming through the ceiling of our second bedroom, I'm trying so hard today to not have a takeaway. But with water coming through and I'm home alone I've had to deal with it myself, letting agents, landlords, upstairs neighbours, maintenance company....I hope I get to eat soon or it'll be takeaway :(

Oh Kerri I hope it gets fixed soon. Don't feel bad if you do get a takeaway...sometimes it's just essential!

Well the men have just left, I've eaten almost a full tube of Pringles and they're coming back tomorrow :( I haven't ordered takeaway though because it's getting too late to eat booooo! But hurray money saved I guess! The last and first time this happened was 2 months ago, we have no idea what the cause is but they're going to have to take down the ceiling to sort it out.

  • Oh dear Kerri I wonder what's causing it! Hope they get it sorted without too much disruption to you... It's weird that there's been a 2 month gap between though - upstairs don't have a hole in their bath do they?

Need to correct my earlier comment- it was B-clays, not B-card. Well it was 7am...

Logged into online banking to find my overdraft limit is still the same, but I reduced it in branch on Saturday. I'm going to have to go in this weekend, but will just take away the entire overdraft facility, and be done with it - I have the money put aside in a savings account anyway.

I have absorbed the car repair costs so debt total:

    #338 £2571/3486 = 73.75%

I think this is only £50 more from my last update, but I just noticed I now owe less that £1k!
