Thanks...funnily enough I got an acknowledgement today in the post :Tparsniphead wrote: »Hi spag bol
My PPI claim was against Barcl4ys.
I sent the claim form on 30/08/2012. I received a reply saying they were looking into the claim on 14/09/2012 saying they would make a decision by 26th October (my birthday funnily enough). I then received a letter with cheque on 27th October. My word did I sulk the day before because I hadn't heard anything on the day they said. I never did have any patience.
It's a long process but worth it. Good luck.
Thanks! And I quite like SlagOil :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Suits meDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -

OMG OMG!! Drank some wine with DH last night and booked a holiday!!:beer::mad::j
The background to this is that we've never taken the kids abroad, only ever camped in the UK. DS1 is the only child in his class that has never been abroad or on a plane, he has started learning French and really wants to go to France...and of course so do I...so anyway we looked at Keyc@mp...and got 9 nights in a caravan in the S of France for £349 :j:money:
Unfortunately the flights and the hire car will be another £450 ish but am really pleased we've done it. Am also pleased DH got me tipsy as I wouldn't have allowed it otherwise :rotfl: I even spoke to my mum when about to buy it and she said go for it :rotfl: We will use Xmas & Birthday money and our overtime to pay for it and it will keep us going for the next 6 months so I reckon it is money well spent. It's also instead of Xmas presents for each other (DH and I). I for one am feeling burnt out and need something to look forward to. It just means an extra month or 2 on the challenge but that's ok.
Don't tell me off too much:eek: I know it is a ridiculous thing to do but hoping we can now knuckle down and pay off another £12k by the time we go

Thanks LemonpopsicleWe have to get passports for me and the kids too so that's another £130 odd quid
DH's CC has offered a 0% deal for 12 months to bank balances to pay off our ODs, then all our debt is on CC's and can be overpayed bit by bit. I much prefer that way of reducing the debt, when I was paying off CCs it was much more efficient, reducing ODs with NW is a pain in the backside!! 5% charge though which is a bit steep  although would pay for itself in 3 months as an equivalent in interest. Hmmmmmm..... :think:DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Those of you that have had successful PPI claims...how long after sending the claim form did you get a response? And did they write, phone e-mail?

Thanks everyone for the xmas ideas, I think we're going to have xmas twig.
Christmas eve we're going to go round a friends house for dinner so that's free
Christmas day we'll have jacket potatos with beans & cheese, then off to a friends in the evening for a party (completely forgot about jacket pots!)
Boxing Day my parents are coming so we'll have xmas nut roast (veggies here), followed by cheese & crackers, nibbles, and leftovers.
So I think I'll get a tin of chocs, some pringles & yummy crisps, and some nuts that should do usDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
