  • Nothing happens to me without drama, KnowHow (Dix*ns group installer people) turned up to do Washing machine :T

One of them comes in and unplumbs the old one (getting water everywhere, messy beggars) whilst the other stays in the van to take packaging off and take out the transit bolts, or so I think. Next thing I know he comes storming in and says it was never packed on the van  By this point the old one is completely out and then they realise actually the new one was packed on but they've given it to someone who ordered a B*ko (I was getting a H*tpoint) so they've given her a free upgrade :mad: Cue me going "so how long is it going to take you to go and get it...."

Give them their credit they were there and back in half an hour and in that time I cleaned out all the cat hair left behind the washer from the previous owner (eww! love Cats but when its not your own I hate cleaning up).

Very happy with new machines and I've already been plotting and scheming which settings to use to get best performance in shortest time :rotfl:

Now tea - Jacket Potato with tuna mayo and veggies, even managed to sneak some veggies onto the OHs plate :D He's feeling too sorry for himself to argue :rotfl:

Glad you're enjoying the challenge Mrs ATS :)

I've just made my little nephew a gym bag, I can't believe how easy it was. I used this pattern here if anyone is wanting to make their little one a new gym bag. It used 1/2m of fabric and some cord. I did add a lining as well which was made from some scrap material I found in the odds bin in Dun3lm for 80p/m. So all in all it cost me about £1 to make :Dpicture

Thats a really good bag Kerri, I am trying to find a sewing class in my area as I would really like to be able to use a machine. I am also trying to finish a blanket I started knitting when I was pregnant with my daughter - she's five next Friday!

    Good luck Jemma!

Thanks mumof3 and nctmum, it's amazing how much money I could have saved if I'd made things myself long ago. I'm just trying to tot up how much I've spent on sewn items that are easy to make and it's quite ridiculous. This consumer society really has taken over our lives hasn't it!

Tonights meeting was quite daunting, but the ladies were really friendly although they looked confused as to how I knew about the meeting. I think I'm more suited to the sewing group though but that's not fully established yet, so for now I shall try to continue with the crochet and knitting whilst doing the sewing in my own time.

No debt reduction to report today as my expenses system is broken so I don't want to throw £50 of my fleabay money at my c/c until I'm sure it won't leave me skinty mcflinty. Well done to all those that have made payments today. Hope the weather improves tomorrow xx

Just realised I have sort of lost track of this challenge but after making a couple of payments just now thought I'd update it!

    #226 £485.44/£16,904.29

Not much down yet so far, but expecting a nice sum in June which will see the debts go down a bit!
Also applied for raising my OHs DLA from middle rate to higher rate as he's got really bad, so fingers crossed we get it - that would make the world of difference!

Decided to take the savings I'd got and use them to make a partial payment on the car loan. The interest it makes sitting in an ISA is much less than I'm paying on the loan, so it makes more sense, and each loan payment will deal with more of the capital now too.

I should be able to do a little more before the end of the month, depends how much more freelance work I can complete.

    Here are my updated figures:

    #123 - 3667 / 10762
    DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

    Total - 10762/10762 :)

Every silver lining has its cloud.
