Hope your results are good Lemonpopsicle X

Well done to all those still hammering away at the debts.

I have had a major blip and am off work with stress. Not at all sure what the future holds now. Trying to sort myself out so I can go back but can't face any thought of it at the moment. Wish I could think of something else to do but a recession is not the best time for fresh starts.

Sorry you are so stressed at work - big hugs :A

  • :o Skulks in with a confession to make... On a slight impulse, I'm now the proud owner of a non-necessity. A tablet. Feel slightly guilty, but the laptop is starting to go, and this will buy me some time to save for a new one! Not a dot of the money came from my debt busting totals either - it was special money :)

Pay day, and I've poked back into the black again this month :T payments will slow down towards Christmas, train tickets and presents to buy, and I'm starting to scour the charity shops for something to wear to the Christmas dos.

Debt update (more to come next week): #338 £1821/3486 = 52.24%

Well done for all the debt busting this month!
  • Ack! My DFD has gone back by a year. Basically I'm getting a lease car for work, which has been ordered for about 6 months. Work like us to have them and at the time, the sums worked out. But since then, we have committed to a large monthly outgoing (for one of our children -it's a specialist music school) and now the car details have come in and the sums don't really add up. I don't begrudge my son as he is really talented and it's a sacrifice we are prepared to make, but it means that for the next year, we're going to only be able to hit minimum payments on cards. Which puts 11 months on our snowball DFD. :( We should be able to put it back up next Summer when we have paid off something we are currently saving for, but feeling a little despondant today.

*hugs* Think of what a better position you are in now having paid things off rather than what a worse position you are in, things would have been much worse.

I'm feeling bad as I can't pay the money into the car pot today as the car is getting 2 new tyres on Saturday. Fingers crossed there's enough left over at the end of the month. Last month was a hard one, lots of unplanned things. This month I already know I need to pay £100 for tyres and my £100 excess for the physio sessions I had.

Have started buying christmas presents for the OH, got a very cheap bottle of aftershave from work (thank you charity sale!) and just bought him a spiderman hoody on offer today from play dot com. I know what I want to get my brother so will find one on offer, just need something for my Mam and Dad (OHs Parents got 2 bond films on offer in $ainbury$) I got my Mam cheap Olay from work last year and cheap D&G perfume for her birthday so need something non smelly I think.

  • Most of the DD have gone out today and I must say the figures look really good :A, however it's not going to stay like that unfortunately as it's a heavy month what with xmas coming, car tax, and car insurance all due  But it looks good for now :D

I have absolutely no idea what I'm getting people for Christmas, which is slightly concerning. I've already picked up a few presents across the year for different family members, just hope they like them now. It's the first year that I started shopping in the January sales for this years presents.

No debt payments here, but I am going to start trying my £20 a week target. I've just realised I've worked every weekend in October! Not quite sure how that happened, but currently still in bed and enjoying a 5 day weekend (even if I am on call). So today is going to be super indulgent doing loads of sewing things :) I have a few orders I've not been able to make this week that I shall be posting tomorrow. Then tomorrow we're going to Cardigan to stay in a cottage with friends for the weekend. I'm a little worried about it as it's petrol costs out there, and then they're all going to be partying like mad and I have to stay sober as I'm on call :( Then I've got Monday off as well for a staycation :D

Ooh did I mention I've made my first friend in Cardiff? We went climbing last night, and before climbing there's a yoga session, two workouts for the price of one!!! We're going again next week, but oh my do my shoulders and legs hurt today!

Hope you're all good :) I'm off to check the balances to see if I can make another payment.

*Hugs" R-O. At least you are in control of things now so can deal with times like this. Stick with us to make sure things don't spiral whilst you're not actively paying things down.

I've managed to make a bit of an overpayment to my loan so I have an interim update (Jemma - I don't mind if you don't update as I will be back next week ;)):

I'm being a geeky bunny today...

Just worked out that, to meet my target DFD of 25th February 2013, I need to pay an average of £89.52 a day until then.

What's even more scary is that that's actually achievable (if DH and I stick to our proper budgets, including Christmas... ;))

In fact, If I could just find another £400 between now and 25th January, that could be our DFD!! That would mean £116.47 a day. Crazy money.

I've discovered that there is a Saturday job available at my local sugarcraft/baking shop so I'm going to apply to that. Doubt I'll make £400 before end of Jan, but it all helps

  • Hi guys thanks for your good wishes. Basically I have a 10 inch by 10 inch  ovarian cyst (hopefully) they won't be able to say whether it's nasty until it's removed which might be 3-4 weeks!
Still not had the blood results back, apparently ca125 can take 14 days.
I'm going to declare my dd payment which went out today and then shuffle off into a quiet corner - not feeling well.
