Morning all!
One week until payday and my bank is looking healthy, whether it will after a trip to Mr A's tonight is another matter :rotfl:
Think my df date is going to suffer a set back - two of the slats of our bed have snapped, we have already taped two others up in the past so I think it's time to invest in a new bedIt was only quite cheap so I've suggested we go for better quality this time. Argoos have one in half price sale which is a reputable make but will eat up most of my usual cc repayment for the month

Well, you got to have a proper bed his missus! You're so very close for paying it all off. Will you get it done by Xmas even with the new bed?DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

No, I'm looking at Easter 2013 as my df date. I can only realistically afford to pay £500 a month off my debt, as I'm not on a fantastic wage (though it is a good wage and I'm not complaining:)) £600 if I shopped frugally (I seldom do)
Hubby has spent the morning goggling beds and agrees that for the price, it is a good deal, so we're ordering it tomorrow. It will eat up most of my £500 and will only be able to afford the minimum cc payment probably but.. new bed here we come:D
ETA: DH has informed me we're joining a gym (he won't go if only he joins!) at £20.12 a month each so I've suggested he cancels Sky Sports package to pay for it and he's seroiusly considering it, yay!:D0 -
His missus: you definitely need a good bed!!

Have you looked at Mattressman? We've bought a couple of beds & mattresses from them recently, we find them reasonably priced and their customer service is fantastic! We bought a new bed for ourselves nearly 2 years ago as the one we had before that had moved house so many times the bolts were knackered. We spent £300 on a bed and mattress which we bought from Dreams in 2003, so it lasted 8 years which wasn't bad but it was soooo uncomfortable! We were both complaining of bad backs and I hardly slept in it in the later stages of pregnancy with dd1, preferring to sleep on the settee! Anyway, we pushed the boat out spending £600 on a new mattress and bed and I tell you it's the best £600 I've ever spent!
Hubby and I have been discussing gym membership the last couple of weeks, but I think it will have to wait until we're debt free - another thing to add to our list!£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

Quick tip; I found out you can get cash back for joining some gyms online. My local gym had a £25 joining fee, but I got £24.50 cashback for joining. It was also only a month to month contract, so can drop out at any point if I stop going.0 -
Well done Jemma on making the trip - I'm really proud of you :j:beer::j!! I also hope that you are over the surgery that you had the other day.
I joined a gym a few years ago but although I started out using it regularly, real life prevented me from going as often as I needed to make the monthly sub worthwhile and it ended up being a waste of money. It's a good idea if you use it though - I loved it when I was there!
Our bed is21 years old
 - but we did get a new mattress 2 years ago (which my MIL kindly bought for us) and it's fab. We bought it on sale from Argos and my back has (personally
) thanked me for it ever since. I think it's really important to get a good night's sleep, even if it means putting debt free date back another month.
I'm starting to get really busy at Uni now as it's my last year and I will basically be working on my Honours Project (lab work) everyday 9.30 til 5pm when I'm not in lectures. So with that and 'homework' and housework/family, I may struggle to come on here as often. But I will try to keep up with posts when I can. I'll definitely post any debt payments anyway.

HelenPie, I know exactly what you mean. We could have such a lovely life if we were spending our money wisely and not paying interest, making minimum payments etc.
So....DH had an expenses payment today and I have made a payment to his CC:
#084 £14,550 / £58,000 25.09%
:j:j:j:j
Whilst this is terribly exciting and we have paid off 25% of the original debt, due to charges/interest etc. my spreadsheet tells me we still owe £47,678  Oh, and I rounded down to £58k in the first place so there was a couple of hundred extra before we even started!!
Never mind, just think how awful Christmas and next year would look without having done this challenge :eek::eek::eek:SpagBol I think you are doing great!! We have all been taking it in the right direction which is the important thingI am now starting to see the snowball effect, it was slow to start with and really hard but as I work my way out of the debt hole its getting better and better :j
p.s. made the 417mile, 8hr round trip!!!! Well chuffed!!!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j We KNEW you could do it, well done you!!
Hope you all have a nice :money: Friday...I'm working today and then tonight so I'll be done in 25 hours :eek:What on earth do you do for a living? You poor thing, I hope you aren't working over the rest of the weekend so you can catch up on some sleep _pale_
