WOO Jemma
Found a puncture in one of my tyres when I got to Asda last night, cue a phone call to brother and Dad to change the wheel when I got home. Was hopeful it could be plugged but they refused as the walls were perished and apparently so are the rest of them. Two tyres had 0.4mm left before they'd be illegal but I told them to stuff it. I don't drive badly so I'll just get my brother to buy me replacements and get his friend to fit them for me.
Could definitely have done with not spending £45 before I even got to work todayOh well. This is why I have the car pot.

Hahaha was it a substitution? I wonder who picks those sometimes...the things they come up with...
No, I don't think so, but who am I to complain? Cut up all the salmon last night into some quite big bits and put them in the freezer, making 4 meals (including what we had last night), not bad at £1 a meal!
Congratulations spag bol :j:j:j what a fantastic achievement!
And well done to Jemma:T:T:T
I to am in a very reflective mood, and have been for a few days now. I don't know if it's because the weather is turning or not or that everyone I know is talking about xmasI've been thinking about what I my target for next year should be, considering I'm going to hit around 50% of what I thought I could pay off this year, but I'm undecided.
Also have been thinking about things I would like to do when we are debt free, although I will have the mantra that if I haven't got the money, I can't spend it. I would love to spend a night or too in a really expensive hotel - just the hubby and meand I might push the boat out and hire a window cleaner as I hate having dirty windows and hate cleaning them. Has anyone else got a wish list of things you want to do when you're debt free?
Oops, nearly forgot, I have an update as well, the statement for my cc has come out today, and the food shop and toiletries didn't make it, but my overpayment did, so the figures look slightly better than they are:
#304 £1,696.41/£5,210.12 (32.56%)
I know it's a cheeky bit of accounting, but I like it£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013
DF by Xmas 2013 #027£841.28/£6000 (14.02%) 12/2
DFD February 2015 £2,303.63/£19,520.26 (11.80%)0 -
Congratulations Jemma on your trip
The OH and I went to London yesterday and I stupidly left my phone on the coach. I got a phonecall on my work phone from my sister this morning saying "you've left your phone on a coach and the coach driver has it in London" d'oh! Luckily he's bringing it back to Cardiff at 2pm and I can collect it from the National Express office today yay! My ringtone must have been driving him potty!!
Zendoodles/tangles are little drawings in pen with pencil shading. I haven't bought anything special or done a course for them. Well I did buy some Faber Castell pens that are £10 on Amaz0n and some cartridge paper, but you can use biro and a4 if you like. You just absentmindedly doodle little shapes and geometric patterns. I like to draw a "string" in pencil first, which is just like drawing a random shape so you can doodle in the smaller shapes. I started by looking on the zentangle website at other peoples drawings for inspiration and just took it from there. I wouldn't bother with the course, just go with the flow of the pen
No debt payments today, and I have a coldbooo.

Absolutely - I've had it for years and it's hardly changedI'm sure it's part of what keeps me going:
- new matress for our bed - we're both suffering at the moment!
- kitchen refit (inc. mini dishwasher and new f/f)
- garden work to make it pretty
- new curtains for living room
- lots of other things..can't think but have it all on a list at home

I caanot even begin to tell you how proud I am of you that you've reached this incredible milestone. The interest/fees shouldn't detract from your achievement! As your debts go down then so will these charges. I started at over £43k of unsecured debt a few years ago and I'm down to the last £5k. You WILL get there and we'll be with you all the way xxx
p.s. made the 417mile, 8hr round trip!!!! Well chuffed!!!
Well done Jemma :T:T:T:T:T:T:T and thanks for the kind words, it means so much to have the support of people in the same boat and who have climbed the same mountain
Choclover, I would go out for lunch and coffee more, have another baby now instead of worrying about big age gaps, move away from this house and (increasingly built up) area to a lovely house in a nice market town or large village somewhere. If I won the lottery I would give up work and run every day, have a cleaner and drink champagne instead of waterDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Off the top of my head, my list is:
I want to take my sortofmum to New York for her 50th in 2 years time.
I want to be able to go clothes shopping or treat myself without feeling guilty.
I want to be able to treat OH sometimes and not stress at him about spending unnecessary money.
I want to slowly replace bits and pieces in the flat so it's more 'ours' than his.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Well done on the trip Jemma - very pleased for you! You don't need to put on a front for your family though, sometimes it's their job to be strong for you! And you already do so much for them, and all of us on this challenge, we definitely wouldn't have achieved what we have without your support, or in my case, I wouldn't have recognised just how much I've managed to clear instead of just how much I still owe.
Don't forget to look at everything you've achieved and not just the challenges ahead of you too!0
