Psycho, when you called them up, were the companies understanding?
If it is just bad debt, and you have no financial links to these people (joint accounts or joint searches), then you have nothing to worry about at all in terms of future credit, maybe just the inconvenience of dealing with collections calls. Lenders can only see you and your financial associates on the credit bureau these days, not the household.
If its fraud, then the address will be flagged to agencies, but again, if you have no connection and are not named specifically, it should mean that companies should just take extra care when underwriting new credit - it shouldnt mean instant decline.
As before, you shouldnt open other people's mail, but I have done it before when its obviously collection letters, and have rung the people concerned. They might be quite pleased if you gave them a lead to finding the people.....
Hope this helps:xmastree:POMDB Xmas 2013 Board - Paid off £12k in 2012 :j:j :xmastree:

Hello
Minicooper I think its a good idea to try and call up as it could affect the credit at your address. But yes, one of the other boards might be more help.
Love the sweetie bouquet Jakes mum :T

Ooh lovely yummy sweetie bouquet Jakes-Mum mmm yummy.
I must be doing something right with my credit card, they've just sent me a letter to say they're increasing it from £1500 to £2500...however, unlike last time I'm not going to go and spend all of that as I've realised I can't pay it all off at once as it is, so I'm trying to pay it back. I think having it on a direct debit definitely helps.
I think the OH and I are going to join mfp, OH has become rather plump and I don't think he's very happy about it. So I'm contemplating going to the gym everyday with him for a 30minute workout and change to a carbs or fat diet, where you can't have them both together but it's ok to eat them separately. I'm also thinking we should cut out butter altogether and go for roasted over fried eep.
Hope you've all had a good weekend, I haven't much debt busting to report although I have been selling some bags & purses and setting this money aside so I can save up for an embroidery machine.....oh how I've changed before I would just have bought it and not cared.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Thanks guys! I've tried looking at other forums, but can't find one appropriate, plus you're all much nicer about these things! I've asked in other forums (not about this) before and gotten a few harsh responses to my 'obvious question', puts you off going where you don't know!
I've texted him to come pick up this lot (I've already written on half of them to return to sender) and tell him it was lucky they didn't get sent back. Will give him one more chance and next letter I will phone them up.
On another note - expenses come in next week, as well as my anual interest on my savings account (making interest on my free overdraft), so will have a debt update Wednesday.0 -
. . . have not posted for months, but have still been paying off debts. My summer went really well - I don't get paid much over the summer and usually rely on CCs. This time I did some casual work and sold stuff on ebay, car boot, traded oldmobile phones in - anything to cover costs!! I managed it without using CC so my debt did not increase as it would normally. :j:j
I was on target to clear by end of 2012 but a reduction in hours at work mean this cannot happen now. I was totally gutted as I have worked so hard to make this happen - almost gave up trying.:o
Anyway after reading loads of diaries/threads on here I have been motivated to regroup and aim for May 2013. It will be really tough to meet but I need to get rid of this debt as no one in my family know about it. I feel terrible for getting into this mess and I feel I am depriving the kids of things they would have normally had. My mood is not great and TBH I think that affects them more than the 'stuff'. I am full of guilt which I was hoping would ease once debts were paid of by 2012. That's why I have struggled with dealing with job cut.
I am looking for other work and am prepared to work hard but I think my age is against me (52).
I keep reminding my self that I have paid off a big chunk of what I owe so I shouldn't feel bad - I just wanted it gone by the end of the year.
I know you guys are really supportive of eachother and I hope you don't mind me barging back in. I just need to be among others in the same situation - who understand and know what it's like to deal with debts like this.
OK time to stop moaning and get on with it.

Hello all, I had a very busy weekend but here now to report...not much actually! I was going to declare £250 off the next OD but forgot I haven't paid the childcare bill for one of the kids yet so that's that £250 absorbed into the ether
We should have some more payments by the end of the month but nothing too exciting so looks like another 2.5 weeks until 25%...I think I might go a bit crazy! :rotfl:
Well done everyone on your payments :TDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -

Hello all!
Jemma - the car boot sale is at King George's Hall in Blackburn. We never got round to having a peek at it yesterday but I spent the afternoon sorting through my jewellery and found loads to sell. SO our stall will be mostly my old jewellery and DH's old books!
Will catch up on the thread soon xx0 -
