Spagbol she's 3 and goes to the nursery attached to the first school. She likes going to play with the other children and doing the activities and i obviously get some time with dd2 and some time to do a bit of housework and cook lunch. But i just wish the teacher would just say what she has to say instead of bringing up potty training every time i speak to her and each time what she says contradicts what she's said before. The health visitor is going in next week so no doubt the teacher will have something else to say about it.

How annoying when they contradict themselves like this. Perhaps just tell her that you are dealing with the potty training at home and just send her in nappies until you've sorted it. In other words, telling her to mind her own business and let you sort your own DD out! With your DD, it's probably best to let it all die down a bit and then try talking to her about using the toilet and not nappies and see what she says. My two never got on with potties - I bought a little toilet seat to go over our main toilet and they prefered that, as they were used to seeing us using it.

Nctmum – Oooooh when do you go to Amsterdam???

Hello!! Thanks for reading my one about Amsterdam - we are going next Thursday, I am pretty excited, as in VERY EXCITED. I just wish naughty Egg would hurry up and send my PPI cheque, its been 8 weeks since they said 2-3 weeks and loads of people on here are going mad waiting. They have removed the option to speak to a person on the complaint line so you know it must be getting bad.

I need it for my spending money!!

Choclover - I know its stressful especially when you feel judged, but the way I see it, as long as she is toilet trained by big school, whats their problem? My daughter was quite easy but my son flatly refuses to use the potty at home. I'm going to leave it a bit and try again when I'm at home for a bit, like Kerri suggests. Maybe at xmas

Psychopathbabble – I am so proud of you for doing the 5k! Well done! (I know it was a few weeks ago...eek!) Have you managed to pay off some of the money you spent hun? Don’t worry about it, I’ve overspent this year by £2k which means I now won’ t be debt free by Xmas. On the plus side, I would have just spent the other £12k+ that I’ve paid off so I’m not beating myself up because of a slight hiccup!

Jakes-mum – love your new avatar! Congrats on the amazing Nokia wins! My boss has just got a Nokia Lumia as his work phone and it looks lovely (although he sent it back as it was a white one and apparently that’s a girly colour, he’s happy now they’ve swapped it for a black one...men!) Did you get a Big Shot???? I’m a fellow crafter and have been looking at one of those for AGES!!! Luckily I’ve been very mse and have stopped myself each time cos they ARE very expensive just to cut circles and stuff...

Spagbol – Have you had your tests yet to see if you’re vitamin B12 deficient? To aim to pay off 40% of £58k in a year is just so huge, it’s mind boggling! I cannot even being to tell you how much of an inspiration you are x Well done on the payrise by the way, as you say, every little helps! Or was that Tesco...? hmmmmmm I’ve never had lentil soup. For that matter, I don’t think I’ve ever had lentils! My mum is not a great cook and tends to leave everything to boil for hours until they resemble babyfood and are completely tasteless so I tend to cook for myself all the time. Lentils are just something I’ve never tried. I had a go at a barley stew thingy and OMG it was VILE!!! I had to chuck it all away...yuck eugh!!! Well done for paying off your spanish bank overdraft, it’s such a great feeling x I cannot wait until you’re at 25% paid off x

Affordmylife – are you still enjoying your new laptop?

Loubie_lou – congrats on your new job hun, it sounds ideal with location and money etc. Plus being near your friends is great! When do you start?

Miss Frugal Wannabe – Well done on your payments, you’re doing brilliantly!

SeriousDFW – How are you getting on? I know you were feeling a bit down a while ago at the thought of not being able to be debt free by Xmas, have you managed to change your perspective to a more positive one? You’ve paid a massive chunk off your debt this year (over a 3rd!) That is a terrific achievement so be proud.

Mrs Addicted to Spending – I bet you can’t wait until your loan is paid off in Dec as you sound as though you’ve felt a little frustrated by not being able to make additional payments due to DH’s job situation? You’re showing the true spirit of this thread though, life throws curve balls and it is up to us how we choose to react to them. You’ve picked yourself back up, re-evaluated your position and are carrying on. I really admire you for that and I hope it inspires many more people on here that it is not a failure if you’re not debt free by a certain date. It would be a failure to give up. And what will giving up achieve? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Every penny paid off your debt is a step closer to freedom. We’ll be with you next year to see you accomplish this goal x

HelenPie – Wow, paying off your debt 3 years early is just mind boggling! Hey Missy, have you got rid of your “sentimental” credit card yet..? I know Dr’s who keep all theirs just to see the title on them.

Rjh35 – Lovely to hear from you again! I’m very glad to hear that your ex has been taken from the mortgage/deeds and it means your life is a lot less stressful. You sounds like you have all this debt busting planned out which is brilliant, don’t be a stranger on your journey as this challenge will be continuing into 2013...

Tirlittan – I still can’t believe you have only £240 to go! Honestly, you are so close that I just want to give you the money so we can see your name on the DFBX12 Roll of Honour!!!

Lemonpopsicle – Aw hun, that is fantastic news about your DS1’s regrade to an A!!!! In the 90%+ now...sooooooo close to the finish line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mrsyallop – over 2/3rds of the way through now!!!

Rubywhatashmoo – Is your kitchen done yet?

Fritterprincess – 2.99% for 5 years?! Wow, that’s great! I can’t believe you’ve managed to pay off £1700 in one month! Crikey, that’s amazing! Did you decide to get rid of the overdraft completely?

InsertWittyName – I sincerely hope that you can be debt free this month, I will literally be jumping up and down despite you being my adversary over the past year!

GreenSaints – come on, you can push it to at least a 3rd paid off by Xmas! You can do this!

His Missus – Congrats on staying within budget on your hols and glad you had fab time. Where is this indoor carbooty you’ve been talking about???

Mumof3plusoh – It looks like a few of you will be debt free this month and I can’t wait!!!!

Nctmum – Reaching 50% paid off will be awesome as that’s still over £9k paid off in a year!

Choclover – congrats on your default dropping of your credit file, very pleased for you! Ooooh I’ve always wanted to cook a curry from scratch using all the spices, do they do other curry’s other than Kormas? Yay, back over the 25% mark!!!

Minicooper272 – yeah! You’re nearly at 40%! Have you got your brakes done yet? Oh no, I can’t believe the price of train fares!!! Who on earth can afford those prices??? Did you watch Martin’s money show thingy? He was talking about train fares and split ticketing etc. It’ll probably be on youtube if you want to search for it. A real eye opener for rail passengers!

Ruthy1604 – not long now till your hols! Where are you going??? And a big WELL DONE for being over 75% paid off!!!

Sharronej – fab to hear from you and you’re doing so well! How are you feeling now about everything? Is DH starting to help you? Are you still having to support your daughter?

ForgottenDreams – Only £60 and you’ll be at 50% paid off! Glad you’re back x

1stTimer – you’re nearly at 2/3rds paid off which is a huge achievement!

Brightpurple – Superb total!!!! You’ll be at 75% off before you know it!

    Recurrent-ostrich – Almost at the ¾ mark!!!!!

Mrso2b – Nicely sneaked over the 30% mark!

Munchin – oooooh over 2/3rds paid off!!! Well done!

Oh and by the way, I signed up to the Tesco Christmas Saver Club so thought I'd share this benefit. Bascially if you sign up and then pay in (top up on your clubcard) before Oct 18th to £100 then you get £6 in bonus vouchers. The bonus and top up vouchers can't be used in the rewards swap thingy but it's equivalent of 6% interest that you won't find in a bank! I think Asda do a similar deal so worth looking it for a free £6 if you do your shopping at these places anyway. I think you get the vouchers in the November statement ready for Xmas.

Anyway, just thought I'd share! xxx

  • Another of Jemma's epic replies...

I can confirm Asda have that scheme, I used to put the paper vouchers I got as an incentive from work on to a savings card, and the nice lady at Asda would give me £6 each time.

Okay - so we have now paid off between us the equivalent of a pretty large mansion... So that's one bottle of bubbly off the directors' Christmas party fund at each of the banks surely!
    DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

    Total - 10762/10762 :)

Every silver lining has its cloud.

I have had my results and they are borderline but according to new thinking would actually be low so I'm now taking supplements and trying to be more healthy than I have been. As a result I feel REALLY poorly and was off sick yesterday!!

The soup is lovely, google lentil and carrot soup I found the recipe on good food, you basically fry up onions and carrots with cumin seeds, add lentils and stock and chilli/spices and some milk. Yummy :)

DH should have been paid today but will be Monday now  25% will either be Monday or towards the end of the month as I have a couple of DDs coming out :j
