You guys are so supportive and lovely to each other, reading it just gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling... :A:A:A
Spagbol, I cannot say any better than what the others have said. We are SOOOOOOOO incredibly proud of you. It's hard enough facing up to debt and joining a challenge when there's a glimmer of hope that you'll achieve it. To keep plodding on, spurring others on and seeing them become debt free when you know it will take a lot longer for you, takes a huge amount of courage and selflessness. You are an unbelievable inspiration to us all and are so strong to keep going. Just look at how much you have changed in the short few months since joining this challenge and how much you've paid off. You're changing your life and the lives of all your family. You could not give them a better gift.
Kerri, :j:j:j It's so great to hear from you again, this thread has just not been the same without your stories of selling knickers! :rotfl:
Aw shucks mfou that's so lovely, I nearly cried...but then the knickers saved me and I laughed instead :rotfl::rotfl:
Unfortunately I just had to buy DS more school shoes and a new house phone as ours doesn't work but got one for £4.20 in Argo$, back to a corded phone, how retro!:money:
Kerri, what are you making with your new sewing machine? I bought a crochet needle and wool recently and am trying to teach myself how to do itDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
SpagBol *big hugs* for you
Jemma is never going to let go of my knickers is she. I'm currently making purses, although I want to make some bags soon as well. The link to my bits and pieces is on my profile. I'm absolutely loving playing with the new machine though
What are you going to make with the crochet?

Thanks for the hugs :A As for the crochet...hmmm...I don't know yet. I like the idea of doing kids toys like little crochet pokemon and yodas and things for the boysI am a complete beginner and can do step 1 really well but am stuck on step 2 :rotfl: must go back to the shop and ask or maybe go on youtube.
Which model did you get? I asked my mum if I could borrow her SM to make some bits to sell but she'd sold it  I want to make cushions and quilted bits and bobs, I have a quilting book with some lovely bits in.DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
I bought a Brother, it's on the create and craft website but I went through their other site for the cashback, it's been reduced by £10 since I paid for it which was annoying. It's blue but I can't remember the model. The crochet toys sound lovely, you'll have to post some photos.

Hey all,
Been lurking but not posting.
August has been an expensive month for us! However payday was Tuesday and so I'm trying to get us back on track.
Applied for a 0% Natwest card today and got accepted (YES!) so have transferred a further £2000 on to 0%.
Only £1500 left on a credit card that charges interest... Looking to increase the credit limit on the First Direct card to and then will transfer this and then I have 20 months on interest free to clear around £9K which is around £500 a month which is totally do-able.
However I might aim for Xmas next year which means paying an extra £60-odd a month which is worth it to be debt free earlier!
Looks like you're all doing well0 -
Hello everyone! I haven't posted for ages but regularly lurk! Like many of you have said the last couple of months have been a bit of a disaster financially. After paying off nearly £5000 in six months it feels like its all come to a total standstill. I have been working hard doing lots of overtime but whatever I earn seems to be swallowed up on just living. The school holidays, kids birthdays, new TV and new mortgage arrangement fees have cleared me out!
September is going to be a new beginning for me as my daughter starts school full time, so after so many years of working stressful nightshifts as a midwife and coming home to look after the kids while my husband works, I am finally going to get a little time to myself. My ambitions for the year were to be debt free and a stone lighter by xmas 2012. I am determined to succeed with both!
Lovely to read posts from so many of the "old crew". Keep your chins up and keep chipping away at your debts. I quite agree with jakes mum, that it truly is a marathon and not a sprint. XxxxLBM 14th Oct 2011 TOTAL DEBT £8500  £8500/£8500 (100%) paid)

I'm disappointed to say that this isn't the first countdown to Christmas I've seen this week. Positive in one way as its closer to us all dealing with the debts, but depressing that this is probably it for summer.DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!
