Ahh Ty Mrs A, yes the benefits system is rediculously long winded at times! Hopefully it will all be sorted soon and I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Had the council tax woman on the phone yesterday as, after taking all the info down they asked for, they couldnt find my online form  turns out I submitted it without clicking the declaration (didnt think you were supposed to be able to do that ) but anyway! all is now in the pipeline and hopefully a decision will FINALLY be on its way
Chin up Spagbol, tis a marathon not a sprint my lovely, as long as you pay just 1p off your debts each month you are moving in the right directionregardless of when your finish line is, we shall all be immensely proud of you and virtually cheering for you :j :j :j
Re: Fleabay, I get notifications so as soon as I get an email I shall let you all know, but as others have said they are pretty darned regular now (they used to be about once every 6 months  now you ususally get 2 a month )SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Well done to everyone, I've just read through the last few pages and I can see some of you are tantalisingly close superheavy in particular I think, well done :j and lots at 70 or 80%: keep it up guys you are all doing so well. Well done for all the new and exciting ways of getting in money, you are all an inspiration.
I am feeling a bit down about debt busting at the moment. I know we've done really well at nearly £12k paid off :T but at 20% I know this is going to take 3 or 4 more years rather than the end of 2013 that I had hoped. The first 5 months went so well but the last 3 months together have been the equivalent pay-off rate of one of those first five months! I know it has been tough with family birthdays, holidays, extra childcare in school hols etc. but can't see it getting easier with more birthdays, Christmas, car MOT etc.
I am determined to do it in 2 years still but not as sure as I was before, it ain't over until the lady sings and all that but I am having a little wallow. A bit of introspection is a good thing I suppose and DH and I had a chat about it last night, he is going to do a bit of freelance work and I am going to do some more shifts in my 2nd job. I will also try and put a few bits on ebay today as I am off work.
Sorry to depress you all so early in the morning, I just needed to get it down. You are all so wonderful and keep me going thank you thank you:A:A

Just imagine where you would be if you hadn't joined this great thread. You need to dig in for the long haul, do extra bits of work, sell on fleabay, every £ helps and before you know it you will have chipped another chunk off. Keep your chin up petal, your name will be up there too
Agreed :T:T
I think when we find it hardgoing, we forget about how much work we have actually already put in and the good work we have all done. Even just signing up to MSE and admitting you need to do something about debt is a very big step in the right direction. Spagbol you have paid off an incredible amount so you should be damn proud of yourself :jBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Sorry I've not been around since urmmm...June? Oh dear
Anyway, I hope you're not all cross at me and well done to all those that have kept up the effort
I'm now living in Cardiff after moving out of London quite rapidly following my housemate literally going mental. I've had to put down a rather large sum of money for a very nice rental flat in Cardiff (£2k gasp!), so I've been living off my credit card (although paying it off each month and using it). I've also had to increase my OD to £700 from £550, but that's better than the £1000 the bank offered.
I think I've been trying to keep to my DFW ways, I just bought myself a new sewing machine, but in less than an hours time my old sewing machine and my old overlocker are going to be fetching me over £100 between them, making my new one only £70ish (unless the prices increase between now and then, please, please, please do). Oh and I'm keeping an eye out on L1dl for their cu5helle offer of bog roll, because it's the cheapest I know of. Ooh and I'm an am4zon discount deals fiend, I love them and I buy them with my SB vouchers so I don't have to spend real money.
So I don't think I've done too badly......however, the next few months will be fleabaying like mad to clear down my debt and be deft free.
I have missed you all though xxDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Canada was oddly very French as I was in Montreal, but it was a nice break. I did get stuck in the big tropical storm in Washington on the way back though. However, me being me I didn't even notice how dangerous the situation was until I saw the news the next day oops.
Oh I haven't massively gone off the rails, but I do need to reign it in. We've stopped going out for dinners all the time now we're not in London, although if we do go out it's vouchers and I have one of those t4ste cards.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

I do feel proud of us but just don't know where the momentum went?! Anyway spurred on by all of you i sat with a :coffee: and went through all of my online CC accounts and found a 0% deal to transfer some odd high interest balances (our total debt is now a bit more from a CC spend transferred and fees but who's counting? :rotfl:) so now I have £3k of DH's CC to pay before I can start on the ODs :j:j Feeling much more positive thank you :A

Well, helloooooooooooooooooooooooo! So lovely to hear from you and that things are good, we were all wondering about you and how you were. Stay with us we need youDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
You guys are so supportive and lovely to each other, reading it just gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling... :A:A:A
Spagbol, I cannot say any better than what the others have said. We are SOOOOOOOO incredibly proud of you. It's hard enough facing up to debt and joining a challenge when there's a glimmer of hope that you'll achieve it. To keep plodding on, spurring others on and seeing them become debt free when you know it will take a lot longer for you, takes a huge amount of courage and selflessness. You are an unbelievable inspiration to us all and are so strong to keep going. Just look at how much you have changed in the short few months since joining this challenge and how much you've paid off. You're changing your life and the lives of all your family. You could not give them a better gift.
