Oh dear...was nursing a bit of a hangover after going to a wedding on Sunday. I really am too old to have 2 day hangovers...! Was a good night though and shocked the hell out of my work colleagues by 1) beating them at pool as they didn't know I used to be in a pub pool team and 2) played the piano at 3am in the dark with no music and completely drunk! (they didn't know I could play). Had a bit of a shock though when I checked out as someone (I think it was my boss!) had put some drinks on my room but because my insurance company had taken nearly £500 on Friday without my consent and I'm still waiting for it to go back then I didn't have any means to pay for this. Luckily, one of my other colleagues was checking out at the same time and paid it for me...phew! Had no idea how I was going to get out of that one!
Despite nursing my hangover all day yesterday I stupidly went to the running club and we were doing 2 min interval sprints and I was really chuffed that I did 400m in under 2mins (just under 8min/mile pace!). However, after 5 of these I turned a nicve shade of green and had to sit out the rest of the session...
It's also been productive recently as I lost 4.5lbs in a week just by cutting out evening treats. I've just started 4 challenges where you build up over 6 weeks so that you can do 100 push ups, 200 squats, 200 situps or 150 tricep dips in one go. I did Week1 Day1 on Sunday and I found the squats and sit ups really easy but OMG my arms are sooooooooooo weak...
Well it sounds like you are all doing well with your debt busting! Quite a few people over 80% now (and Jakes-mum is soooooo close to 70%!). Fallenwiccan, I hope your shoulder gets better soon, it sounds horrendously painful! Loubie-lou, if you can last until Christmas in your job then that's great but if you can't then your health and happiness are the most important thing. How easy would it be to find another job? InsertWittyName, ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!! There's no way I'm gonna catch up now, WELL DONE!!! Really proud of you. Superheavy, you are sooooo close to finishing now I bet you can taste it. Hopefully this freelance project will happen and you can pay that last little bit off. Lemonpopsicle, that sounds really weird with paypal. I hope you get it sorted out soon! Maybe it's just a random check that gets done? Bonglecat, well done on the briefcase sale! I hope noone on this thread has just bought a briefcase for £102 or they'll be gutted! Choclover, I'm with you on this one, I want to start paying to a charity but only once my debts are gone as there is no point before then. I do give money in sponsorship whenever I can but I don't sign up for things at the door.
I'm having my hair cut after work (very MSE as she comes to my house and it's only £17.50 which is about 50% of the salon prices round here!) and then will colour it at some point this week.
I hope you're all doing really well in your debt busting. I wish I had the money through to pay some more off my debt, HURRY UP ELEPHANT AND GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!

I tried shaking DH upside down over the banister to see if any coins fell out but all I got was some old reciepts and a couple of screwsmaybe I should start actually giving him some pocket money for these such occassions
Oooo we were so naughty today! we went out for dinner (just to 2 of us as Jake decided he'd rather have £4 and go down the chippy with his mate) and then went into town and wandered into G@me where we bought Miss Lily her first ever computer game (for daddys PS3) as shes feeling a bit left out, then we saw the controllers that DS and DH had been moaning about needing, so that got added to the pile, THEN had a look through the Xbox 360 games as DS has bought himself the guitar hero's guitar and they had 2 of the games for £7.99 each so it was 'ooo he can have one now and we can pop one in the xmas stuff as ive still got £75 left of the last win' THEN we noticed it was 3 for 2 so it would have been rude not to get a 3rd game for free so ended up with a DS game for Miss Lilys christmas present too
Ended up spending £54 in G@me and £18.50 on the meal, and I have to say . . . I thoroughly enjoyed every minute after so long penny pinchingSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Evening all,
I made an extra payment to the dreaded cc of £10, but won't declare my total until next week as I should be making another payment then.
Checked ebay and my dress is now at £15.99! Can't believe it, why have I been hanging onto it for so long?£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

It seems to be every two or three weeks as far as I can tell. I doubt you'll be waiting around for too long to get them on there.DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

im so annoyed that im not even going to declare the £17 paid off. im going to wait a bit and see if i can scrap a little more together and then make a payment. grrrr.
next month will be better xx
That's us atm - with the Summer Hols and entertaining kids and all sorts of bills coming in, we're only going to manage the minimum payments when the next salary comes in . Still, if I hadn't gone out at all this hol, I would have gone round the twist (I nearly did anyway ). No car, no money, school holidays and 2 kids is not a good combination.Superheavy wrote: »Well...payday rolls around once more, and hopefully it's one of the last times I'll have to associate payday with getting up early to send a significant amount of the paycheque off to a credit card company. DF day seems tantalisingly close now. With a bit of luck, if I pick up another freelance job or two I may even get it done by the start of September!

Well done to everyone, I've just read through the last few pages and I can see some of you are tantalisingly close superheavy in particular I think, well done :j and lots at 70 or 80%: keep it up guys you are all doing so well. Well done for all the new and exciting ways of getting in money, you are all an inspiration.
I am feeling a bit down about debt busting at the moment. I know we've done really well at nearly £12k paid off :T but at 20% I know this is going to take 3 or 4 more years rather than the end of 2013 that I had hoped. The first 5 months went so well but the last 3 months together have been the equivalent pay-off rate of one of those first five months! I know it has been tough with family birthdays, holidays, extra childcare in school hols etc. but can't see it getting easier with more birthdays, Christmas, car MOT etc.
I am determined to do it in 2 years still but not as sure as I was before, it ain't over until the lady sings and all that but I am having a little wallow. A bit of introspection is a good thing I suppose and DH and I had a chat about it last night, he is going to do a bit of freelance work and I am going to do some more shifts in my 2nd job. I will also try and put a few bits on ebay today as I am off work.
Sorry to depress you all so early in the morning, I just needed to get it down. You are all so wonderful and keep me going thank you thank you:A:A
