Hiya Save Dosh, I'll sort you out with your very own number tonight, I think I must have given Tinks a number a while ago as it's been a couple of weeks since I last did some updating and giving numbers out... :o:o:o

Well, I've just come out of my boss's office after telling him that I can't go to Snowdon. We started off by talking about his career, then mine, then we started talking about what is potentially going to come down the line to us which would mean me visiting depots across the country. I then opened up the "I can't go to Snowdon" thing by saying that travelling to the depots would cause me a problem at the moment as I struggle with distances. He is actually a good friend, it's just he's quite reactionary so says what he thinks without thinking sometimes and can come across as quite abrupt! If he doesn't understand something then he'll just say what he thinks but he took it really well to be honest and you could tell he genuinely cares as a friend and as my boss for both my personal development and my career. He said that although he doesn't understand cos he's never gone through it, that he understands the concept. He's asked if there is anything that he or work can do to help me get through this but I've just said that I need time to push my boundaries in a controlled manner and that I will fight this and get back the outgoing and confident person that I used to be. He said he had no idea that I was still struggling as I project such a good act of being self confident and outgoing that it's a bit of a shock. I told him (bit tearful actually) that it's so frustrating cos it's like I've actually got 2 people in my head in a way as one extreme of my personality is outgoing, self-confident and adventurous and wants to the travel the world, while the other is cowering in a hole and is frightened of the world. I just need to bury that part of me in the hole and forget about it! Can anyone lend me a big shovel :rotfl:

    I WILL get there!!!!!!

Thank you for all your support. :A xxx

Well done Jemma :T Glad you got your boss to understand a bit and you did the right thing for yourself. Don't forget you have to look after yourself as well as everyone else (I'm sure you have been told this before on this board!) and we are all here for you. If I visit my friend in Preesall I'll come give you a hug and buy you a coffee! xxxx

It wasn't but I feel much better for it now. A guy from work actually told me that he went through the exact same thing when he was 28 (he's in his 40's now) and it lasted a couple of years as well. He said that he just did exactly what I'm doing by pushing my boundaries and that one day it was like it just disappeared as he'd pushed his boundaries so much that nothing affected him anymore. He's never had a problem since and runs marathons and runs up mountains too! It's really given me hope that I can definitely get through this. :j:j:j

I'm just looking at my finances and I wish I was a happy about them...

Oh well, nothing I can do about it except change what I do this month and then the month after that and the month after that etc...

Here's a  for you, though I'm more of a cider girl myself :)

ETA: you're not the only one round here whose finances are a bit  at the moment (though I am getting a pay rise in September :T)

    Monthly update

I normally update my progress after each payday, but I won't be this month as we're going away to America next week on a big trip which I have mentioned before and I know it isn't in line with being a serious DFW! However, for various reasons we are going and are very excited about it, of course!

It's all been paid for and budgeted for so it's not a complete disaster, and we're still on track to achieve DF status by Xmas, though it will be a closer shave than I would have liked! The real reason I'm not updating is because I don't really know how much we're going to spend in America. Don't worry, we're not having carte blanche - we do have a budget, but it's quite generous and I'm actually hopeful that we will spend less than budgeted! Also I've done some extra work that I don't know yet how much I'm going to get exactly.

So, I will be back at the end of August to give an accurate update and re-focus for the last few months of being in debt hopefully!

Well done to those of you who are still working hard on debt-busting, I'm sure many are doing a much better job at staying focused than I am!
