Morning all!
Last trip to the vets last night, no treatment, in and out in 5 mins = no charge :j
Just been told I'm due a payrise in September as I'll have been here for a year, haven't opened the letter, being all cool about it on the outside but on the inside...
Still managing to stick to a weekly budget and have already done my meal plan and shopping list for next week (was a quiet day at work yesterday;))
My personal challenge for this month is to try to reduce my weekly budget from £100 to £80 all inthough friend's house party this Fri and my bessie friend's wedding in 3 weeks may scupper my plans slightly :rotfl:

:A:A:A:A:A:A:A:AThank you all for being lovely to me. :A Got quite tearful with some of your comments guys.
As some of you have pointed out, today is a new day and a new month. I have brought sandwiches in for my lunch and it's going to be a no spend day! :T
I got paid yesterday so need to sort out my finances for the month although I need to take into account my car insurance is due on 11th August. Good thing though is that I had budgeted at around £600-£650 but my quotes on comparison sites are coming in at £330!!! Quite a saving there me thinks!
My mum is going to my grandma's for tea tonight so it's just going to be me and my dad sooooooo I've decided that I'm going to go for a long run tonight OR tidy my room and start taking photos for ebaying if it's chucking it down...
What are your plans for tonight? xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

I have sneaked another £100 payment to cc from our (technically DH's) tax rebate. We are still in discussion what to do with it, he wants all 4 of us to have £100 to spend, I want to use all of it to pay cc
There is now nearly £400 left in the pot. Watch this space

I'm so glad you're feeling better :T:T:T
My plans for tonight are to phone my Uncle to book an MOT and service in for our little car, and then enjoy the olympics whilst tidying the living room as best friend is over on Saturday to go to the football with me. OH did an amazing job tidying up the spare room so she can stay in there so I need to pull my finger out and get the rest of the flat tidy.
I may even sort out my metro pass to go with my season ticket too if I remember, that way it's only cost me £10 for the whole season when a return is £3.30!HSBC CC - £3000 / £3000

Sending hugs to you Jemma :grouphug: (gotta smile at this it looks so ridiculous!)
It is great that you have shared your hard times as well as the ups on here. Lots of wise and supportive words from other members too :A
I think most of us are too hard on our selves and have to work out what we are able to do and praise ourselves for it. Paying off our debts involves fighting lots of old demons as well as forging new ways of living.
I always know that if I come on to this thread I will find encouragement and be able to increase my motivation to carry on.
Thanks everyone and especially Jemma for starting it all XXXDebt Free. Have my Van.Find dream

Jemma. I am sorry that snowdon was a disaster. Tell your boss you can't go and just keep telling him til it sinks it. You and your health is more important. Like someone else said by next week it'll be yesterday's news.
I like the idea of 5 things for August. I will have a think and get back to you.
Hugs to you and anyone else who needs them xGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Jemma - glad you're feeling better. That is a brilliant saving on car insurance! We got our bike insurance about £200 cheaper as we went for third party fire and theft. We both have alternative mode's off transport if something happened to the bike and it does include personal injury cover as well.
5 thing I want to achieve in August:
1. Apply for min. of 10 jobs
2. Re-start half mara training (min 3 runs a week)
3. List min. of 5 items on flebay
4. Lose 4lbs
5. Make Karelian pasties.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Jemma - I think you should go Snowdon and push you boss off the highest peak (whoops), only joking. Possibly your boss does not know how you feel, so tell him and if he still insists, hes really not worth giving a thought to - so be firm and do whats right for you. If you think there may be a chance of being sacked, which is outrageous, explain in a polite email and then at least you have some comeback - good luck with the running - sounds fab.
With regards to payments, i have made some, but will update around 14th, so i know its a true figure. Could someone tell me how to work out the percentage on a calculator (drrr), i only have the basic phone one, thanks0 -

Say your debt is £400 and you've paid off £100.
Take the £100 and divide it by 400 which will give you 0.25. To get the % multiply that figure by 100 which will give you 25%. Hope that helps xGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Starmac thanks for that, very well explained.0
