There's a Kerri who's just come back from the states and posted on the 2012 Clothing Challenging thread. Not sure whether that's ours though, but it would be a coincidence wouldn't it?
'Our' Kerri went to Canada and hasn't been on the forum since the beginning of July, the day before her OH also got back from a different bit of Canada. Hope she's ok? :(

  • Excellent news today. We decided to sell our caravan today as we've not used it at all this year and next year have booked a Canvas holiday so won't use it then either, so it's going to be sat there for at least two years. And realistically it's too small for us now anyway. So, put it on Ebay classifieds at about 11am, by 5pm someone was here viewing it, they've left a deposit and will pick it up tomorrow. :T It was only a cheap old one, but that's £2K to pay towards the Next account, when the money comes. I haven't looked at the snowball (saving it until I've paid the money off) but hoping it knocks a few months off that.

Have said to hubby that when we're debt free we can save up and buy an even nicer, bigger one. :)

    :D Hi all!

<--- two more trips to the vets with the little lad and another booked for Tuesday. Running total currently at £110 so not worth claiming on the insurance, but have paid with CC :(. I do have £70 put aside for you-know-what as I have two rather old cats but didn't want to touch this emergency money.

Had a rather expensive but lovely night away for D's birthday (belated pressie) but paid with debit card. :)

Weekly shopping trip today, stuck to the list and have kept within budget. Managed to spend just under £200 over the past two weeks (£100 a week is my budget for all food & entertainment, not including last night's trip) so doing well. Looking at £60 a week budget now as the freezer and cupboards are quite full and apart from one house party, we've not much planned socially now.

RO - well done on the £2k for the caravan, that will make a substantial dent in yout debt :T

save dosh - welcome on board, the size of a person's debt is relative to their income so don't assume it's not significant. It's ignificant to you and no-one on here is going to make your debt seem unimportant or tiny. :)

mini cooper -there's a few of us who'll be here after closing time on xmas day, you'll be in good company :D
  • Hi - worked out holiday spending and it was £172 for the 2 days which seems like a lot but when you have to pay for 4 people to eat out and to get into things, it gets expensive. Not added to cc tho' so that's good :).

    Recurrent-Ostrich - that's good about your caravan :).

Mini-Cooper - I will not be debt free by Xmas either. I'm looking at May 2013 if nothing goes drastically wrong.

HisMissus - well done sticking to your budgets - I know how hard it is to do that ;)!

Is kerri still MIA? Hmm! That's worrying.

KERRI COME BACK AND LET US KNOW YOU ARE OKAY!!!

    Hope that works ;)

I enjoyed the opening ceremony too. I was a bit sceptical and before it started I have to admit I wasn't impressed by the fields and old fashioned style of farming/living being shown. I kept thinking "is this really how we want to be portrayed to the rest of the world?" but it turned out fantastically! Is that a word? It is now! Loved the queen jumping out the helicopter :D

We did a car boot yesterday and made just over £60. The change went in my sealed pot and the £60 went off the c/c so new total now is £3634.50/£8748.50 41.5% nearly half way :D

Can i please join. I don't owe much, but unfortunately am not working and not getting much interviews either, so its taking ages. I've tried the survey thing, but seem to spend all my time filling things in, just to be told im not suitable. I have put a load of stuff on ebay, hopefully i will do this as i don't have any more birthdays, etc coming up. My total owed is £523.29, but that will go up drastically as its end of month and all my direct debits for bills etc go through. Anyway, good luck to everyone.
Can i change my owed total to £878.72 as i forgot i have used my Argos card to buy a strimmer etc, so i need to add these bits on, plus i owe my daughter a bit, which she is not waiting for, as its stopping her spending, but still owed. I will update my sig, thanking you.

This is long and boring but I'm going to share :D

DH's CC that is no longer at 0% is down to just under £4k which we are hoping to halve on 6th August to £2k ish owed. That card just flashed a BT offer of 6.9% for the life of the balance which I have now used to transfer £6.5k on which the 0% offer runs out in a few weeks (so would be 19%ish ). There is going to be about £1k left on that. So...we have to find £3kish in the next month to avoid huge interest charges. This is good though as it was going to take until xmas to pay off the other card at a rate of £2-3k per month!! so a huge improvement interest wise  Now I can keep paying minimums with less interest and start paying off the OD :T

Simple things and all that. I still cannot believe we got in such a pickle and we were able to get well over £40k of CC debt between us. Scary.
