thanks phsycobabble you are right its just progress has slowed right down and whereas i thought i could be clear august/september it now looks likely to be much nearer the end of the year and thats still will minimal treats.

for example this month apart from paying bills/debt and food i will spend £15 on myself.

i cannot wait for this to be gone.

what i wish for once it is

    1. to go to the supermarket and not have to be so careful
    2. to see something i like and think - yeah i deserve that
    3. to travel with my family much more
    4. to see more of my family (work gets in the way atm)
    5. buy some plants for my garden
    6. socialise more
    7. save some money (lol what even is that!)
    8. pay off mortgage quicker
    9. treat my lovely husband
    10. relax

    xx

  • Yes FritterPrincess and BrandNewStart - I struggle with the overdraft thing because it's never the same amount every month or even every week so I always have to approximate it. I wish I could 'shoehorn' it somewhere (without being charged interest) so I knew where I stood with it. All I know is I'm heavily overdrawn every month and can't wait not to be. I can't remember when I wasn't overdrawn which just shows how bad I've been with money. At least now though, I've managed to get the overdraft down a bit so I'm not frightened by the end of every month that I'm going to go over the overdraft limit! So any suggestions on what other people do would be very welcome :).

  • I know what you mean MrsAddictedtoSpending and relate to a lot of your post. O/Ds are horrible. Mine is next on the priority list for me as it is the most expensive.

I have had an ace day today :j I got myself motivated to go out on the bike and really enjoyed it!! Might have got my cycling mojo back! I didn't push it too hard and stopped for a coffee half way round. I did 41 miles and did my best ever time on Wizard Hill!

Plus have been eating healthily and am prepared for school this week. Awesome :D

    hello all

im just waiting for the football to start so have popped on, apoplogies if my spelling is bad, im trying to type without my middle right finger as ive managed to take a chunk out of the side on the bloomin meat slicer when I was cleaning the blade :( DH has had to tape a piece of kitchen roll round it as it was bleeding a corker. On the plus side I can flip him the bird and feign innocence :D 'im just trying to alleviate the bleeding love, keeping it elevated' ;)

DH is in my bad books as hes managed to eat 13 bars of chocolate out of my stock without even noticing  which means hes just been eating them for the sake of it not because he actually wanted one, so he cant even have enjoyed them  thats not what they were for  so what I had left has been removed from the fridge.

Really need to have a look in the bank and see the state of affairs, for those that ask about OD, I go online and look at the last months statement and see when I was most OD, and that is what I use as my OD amount on my spreadsheet, I then check the same date the next month to see if it is less than the previous month, if it is then I have paid some off IYSWIM? We were naughty yesterday and went out to dinner as a family, it was really nice not to cook, and it did cheer up DH and DS (who had his 12 mtre diving final this weekend and couldnt do it because the water in the lake was too cold for him :() so I thought it was worth the expense. Its really nice to feel like we are starting to get a life back, I know we are still in debt but to just have the odd meal and treat (my ipad :D:D) has made it feel like we are not going without everything all the time :o does that even make sense?

Right im going to check the bank before kick off and tell DH he needs to make me a cuppa :D

Had a look in the bank and am declaring £150 off my OD bringing it down to £700 OD :j :j (am actually showing £450 OD last month and less this month if all goes to plan, but with DH's job upheaval am just playing the cautious game ;))

Sorry not been on for ages. Still going with reducing CC's but have put house no the market so had to pay £900 straight out and to make sure decent chance of a mortgage we've put some of this months CC's payments to the overdraft which i hadn't included in figures so have just paid £1400 to that but first time in years ive not been in OD. Think it will take a few months to sell so will just keep paying off as normal so currently sitting at Jan rather than dec now but will see if can pull that back
