Motorbikes are his passion, and it does feel quite strange not to have one parked outside the house :o. I knew he would be heart broken and this would never be a permanent thing, tis in his blood as they say so at least this way I can SAVE (hope you can hear this DH, the S word!!) for it and get him his dream, rest of his life bike (currently he would like a Harley so thats going to take alot of 2nd pursing :rotfl:) that is purely for his enjoyment not to get to work etc :). But im telling him straight, if im saving £6k for a Harley I want my own set of leathers! No more riding in his spare jacket which is a size XXXL (im in size 10 clothes) :rotfl:

And as I just cant help myself, I have to share that I had a lovely surprise in the post today, I won £250 of babies R Us gift cards (which can be used on anything in the Toys R Us store :D) so Miss Lilys christmas is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee again plus nephew and Jake if I can find stuff they like :j:j:j

Congrats on your win!!! Perfect vouchers for your family!

Well done on the win jakes-mum. Free Christmas :j

Jemma you do do well on your epic posts. You must read through with a notebook in your hand to remember everyone. I'd miss loads of people cos my memory is terrible (I blame baby brain :rotfl: )

Actually I cheat quite a bit as I have Word open and keep flitting between my Excel spreadsheet for updating, Word for my epic post and MSE to read through... :D

Ahh TY Starnak, last year I aimed for christmas for £100 (4 grandparents, 1 Great grandparent, 1 husband, 1 sister, 1 BIL, 1 Nephew, 2 Nieces, Son and Daughter) and was over by about £6 :rotfl: so this year I have set the target of FREE :rotfl: :rotfl: all presents have to be won or funded through sw*gbucks vouchers, s*perpoints vouchers. DH laughed at me last year but this year he's like my one man cheering squad :j :rotfl:

Christmas is canceled for everyone in my family this year because of what happened last Christmas so it'll be free for me too!!! :rotfl:

Aw Jemma, I am trying to not get myself in a muddle with the expenses, and quite glad it's a "short" month (spending over a week at my parents is definitely cheaper!)

I know what you mean about the getting to grips with spending though, ever since I hit the 60% paid off mark I've found it difficult to push myself, especially as the things I have left to pay off are OD and a DCA so it's hard to overpay. MUST TRY HARDER.

Congratulations Jakes-Mum on the win that's awesome :)

BNS glad you are feeling a little bit better and the medication is working, don't ever feel afraid to voice your thoughts here, we're here to help :)

£6 over? That was some reckless spending there j-m!! :rotfl: I told DH this year that Christmas was going to be either handmade or free from vouchers. He also laughed but is now completely converted now I have nearly £100 in vouchers already! I think it takes men a while to recognise a good idea that's not theirs :rotfl:

I guess it just brought to the fore how unhappy I am with my life currently. I hardly ever go out unless it's just for tea for an hour or so, I live with my folks, I keep dreaming of my own home with a lovely garden and having non-existent friends round for a BBQ or dinner parties, my non-existent boyf giving me a hug... It's probably just the weather making it seem worse than it is but I just feel a bit meh with it all. I feel so out of touch with people my own age and it's scaring me.

(((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) sorry to hear you are feeling so down. The constant weather extremes are not helping people's moods IMO. Take it easy and remember you are taking steps to better yourself. You will get there and have a more stunning house than your sister :D

Kerfuffle – ooooooh did you manage the 8days???? If so *bows in salute* that’s chuffin awesome!!!!!

I managed the 8 days and now I'm on Day 2 on a 7-day Fiscal Fast. After the eighth day I did my grocery shopping, I did really well and came in under budget so had a few dollars left in my purse. :T

So that being said I've scavenged around the house, emptied my sealed pots (and put an IOU note in there ;) again :D), taken some un-played lottery money out it's jar, swapped some American coins for Canadian coins (the shops here take American as we're so close to the border), and all of that plus the change from grocery shopping is going into the bank this afternoon so that I can do a transfer and pay another 87.09GBpounds to Bank of Mum and Dad :T

So another update for me please:-

    #65 3260.96 / 12471.68 = 26.15%

So I've nicely round up the amount paid to BoM&D, no untidy pennies, and the percentage is a nice rounded figure too .

My challenge for today is to go into town with absolutely no money in my purse (other than a lucky penny from the machine at Blackpool :rotfl:) to take daughter to fabricland, and to deposit my cash into the bank. Must remember to keep purse firmly closed

I'm going to make sure I have something to eat before I go, and will make up a flask of coffee to take to stop any temptation.

The very shortened version is that my parents split up on Christmas Day, I moved my mum out on Boxing Day and my older sister and I spent the next few days being marriage counselors and eventually got them back together... To be honest, their marriage is still very rocky because they both won't make much of an effort and they're very much the "victims". Honestly, it's like referree-ing children sometimes!!!

On a funny note, Co-op has just had an advert on for BBQ food!!! :rotfl: Haven't they looked outside?????????

It really is amazing how much the weather affects our moods, maybe those people with the sun lamps are on to something  though im actually the other way round and at my happiest when its raining and miserable when its hot but thats more to do with M.E and the affects the heat have on it than anything :o

Dare I say Starnak that I was actually a littel dissappointed when I realised i'd gone over budget last christmas :rotfl: saw it as an epic failure, DH was stood next to me rolling his eyes saying 'but love, you got 13 people christmas presents for £106 and that includes our 2 children who had nearly £1k worth of stuff to open alone!' :rotfl: heaven knows what i'll be like if I actually have to buy something this year :o

Ooo Kerfuffle, I carry a lucky penny too since someone else mentioned it and have noticed I always seem to have money come to me just as she said :)
