Thanks, it's a couple of inches below my wrist and maybe a centimetre long (I'm not going to measure it my office mates already think I've crazy :rotfl:) I haven't got it covered right now but I'll be careful with it. It hasn't blistered like I expected, maybe a teeny tiny bit and it's a little tender but nothing like the blisters I get on my foot from my psoriasis (skin problems I have them!).

Hectic afternoon at work but thankfully I've just fired off the last of the emails I needed to do. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

Try arnica or metnaium (can't remember the spelling but it's a form of nappy cream) both are great for burns. I burnt my arm on the pizza dish and it's still got a scar but the swelling went down loads just a warning though the nappy cream is bright yellow and gets every where

    Hello all

I've had a really good week, getting some R & R and eating healthily. My new meds seem to have worked really well.

However I got a bit stressed out about money today - I panic really quickly now if I think I am overspending. I think I might be slightly but I feel really stressed out and don't want to check. I know where I am financially pretty much I think.

Have also been feeling very down about my weight, esp after seeing some pics of myself looking enormous online. I am really annoyed to be so low again tonight when I thought I might be getting better :(

Sorry for the rather self-obsessed post - I just wanted to share.

Ahh Kerfuffle your still over a quarter of the way there! Thats HUGE!! :j :j just think where that £3k would have gone instead if you hadnt been smashing your debts. BoMaD is always the best people to bank with ;) no interest and no demanding letters when your having a bad month. It will go in time :)

Hi jakes-mum, thank you for your kind words. I think I'd got so focused on the fact that my debt should be 50% paid off because we're halfway through the challenge that I totally ignored the 25%. I promise to remember to appreciate how far I've come so far :) Thanks again.

Hi BNS - this is the place to share so don't be sorry for that :).

Sorry to hear you are feeling down again, it's very difficult to keep optimistic when you are trying to change things as it seems to take forever. It's good that you are making the changes though, even if it will take a while to reach your goals - frustrating tho that is. A lot of us are in for the long haul on this thread so we 'get' how it is - highs and lows.

It's really good that you are eating healthily now and getting R & R :A as this will hopefully help you feel better, in many ways (and may help you to lose some weight - another bonus!).

I know what you mean about being frightened about over-spending - I'm so used to spending that I get scared everytime I go into any shops except supermarkets  (I'm not too bad in supermarkets :o). I've decided to try and do other things and not go near the shops lol. At least I'm not tempted by online stuff. I think that fact that we are now aware that we need to curb spending is most of the battle, even if it takes a while to change our habits!

    Keep sharing :). *hugs*

Hey everyone, I hope everyone had a great Jubilee weekend despite the weather! I’m still off work until Monday (hurrah!!) so just been pottering about in the garden when there’s a break in the rain.
A lot of you have a been thanking me for the epic posts so I just want to say a huge THANK YOU back as your comments mean a lot. Although, they are only epic posts as I don’t update as often as I should...!

Looking at the total we’ve paid off so far as of the end of May then we only have £69k to go until we smash the £500,000 mark. How amazing would it feel if we could hit this by end of June??? So come on guys, let’s pull our fingers out. We managed to pay off more than that in January and February so let’s all go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Minicooper272 – Did you enjoy visiting your family? Have you decided about the gym yet? Sorry, I don’t know if I’ve missed you saying yay or nay.

Kerfuffle – ooooooh did you manage the 8days???? If so *bows in salute* that’s chuffin awesome!!!!!

BrandNewStart – Hope you had a great happy birthday! I’m glad you’ve been getting some R&R and eating healthily, it will really help. Someone on here once gave me some great advice and that is to not focus on too many things at once. You are doing everything you need to do to lose weight at the moment without obsessing about it, you are cycling and eating healthily. This is much better than going on a diet! You are changing your life and your habits and this is much more important than what the scales say. You have also had major changes in your life recently and are trying to pay off all your debts too so give yourself a big pat on the back for dealing with everything so well. Relax. You will get there. Remember, Confucious say “A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step...” Every one of those steps is as important as the previous one and any future ones.

KissyKissyKaren41 – I’m exactly the same, I always try to do everything yesterday but it’s still not fast enough so I feel deflated and like I’ve failed... I’m slowly learning that it’s a no win situation as I’m giving myself very unrealistic expectations and to take life a bit more slowly and enjoy the journey...

Canucksfan – hey hun, I’m here!!! I hope your health issues have cleared up...

CW2 – you are sooooo close to 60% paid off, only £195.40 to go!!!

Mrs Addicted to Spending – I love your positivity despite your situation, it’s lovely to see x Just think of how far you’ve come already and what a difference this has made to your situation.

Camuk81 – OMG a gas explosion, glad nobody was hurt but I bet that really scared the bejesus out of you!!! You’re sooo close to 60% paid off, only £219.81 to go!!!!!!

Karrie2129 – uh oh, looks like we have another swagbucks addict here... ;o)

Choclover – any sign of the baby choclover yet???????????

Recurrent-ostrich – lovely to hear from you again Recurrent and you are doing superbly!!! I love seeing the DFD come down on your signature! How long have you got to go with uni now?

Jakes-mum – aaawwwwww bless, I could just imagine your DH sulking in the shed mourning his youth. I think you’re lovely but sensible to say that he can have another one in the future if he can get his ankle sorted.

Fallenwiccan – I love your mse comment about 2yr old hair dye, I have a bottle here that’s been here....ooooh maybe4 yrs...! I think that’d better go in the bin otherwise I might lose all my hair! How’s your arm today hun?

Spagbol – health is definitely more important hun so don’t worry about the unexpected expense for DS xxx I can’t believe how fast you’re flying through this challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NicoleWild – how are you doing hun? Have you managed to get any of that money in yet?

Kerri_dfw – can’t you pay off part of your credit card with what you have saved up already?

Jo84 – I’m so pleased that you’ve made so much money from Ebay!!!!!!!!!! Any news on you becoming an aunty yet????

Loubie_lou – aaawwww hun, you sound so down. Don’t worry, we all have bad months and it sounds like yours has been tough cos you haven’t had much work so your money is down. You’ll soon claw that £100 back once you’re back up and running again. Sending you massive hugs xxx

Suzitiger – glad you had a lovely time in the lake district, very jealous....!

Morning Jemma, lovely epic post :)
I think I've just managed to confuse myself with it a tad bit. I always end up waiting for the expenses which tend to be delayed because of my slack manager...like this week, my expenses were filed on time for being paid today but my manager hasn't approved them yet, so I haven't been paid for them.

So what I have done is put enough money aside in my bank a/c to cover the c/c bill in full, even if I reach the limit on it with my expenses and work don't pay me in time. If I go and pay off the c/c too early then I run the risk of not being able to cover the full bill because I could end up spending twice.
All my normal household bills are covered by my hsb a/c so I don't need to worry about them :)
So when the expenses get paid from work, they'll go into my lloyd a/c ready for next months c/c bill. As I pay less for petrol than I get back, the Lloy a/c should soon fill up and I won't need to use my own money to pay for the expenses eventually.

Motorbikes are his passion, and it does feel quite strange not to have one parked outside the house :o. I knew he would be heart broken and this would never be a permanent thing, tis in his blood as they say so at least this way I can SAVE (hope you can hear this DH, the S word!!) for it and get him his dream, rest of his life bike (currently he would like a Harley so thats going to take alot of 2nd pursing :rotfl:) that is purely for his enjoyment not to get to work etc :). But im telling him straight, if im saving £6k for a Harley I want my own set of leathers! No more riding in his spare jacket which is a size XXXL (im in size 10 clothes) :rotfl:

And as I just cant help myself, I have to share that I had a lovely surprise in the post today, I won £250 of babies R Us gift cards (which can be used on anything in the Toys R Us store :D) so Miss Lilys christmas is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee again plus nephew and Jake if I can find stuff they like :j:j:j

Ahh TY Starnak, last year I aimed for christmas for £100 (4 grandparents, 1 Great grandparent, 1 husband, 1 sister, 1 BIL, 1 Nephew, 2 Nieces, Son and Daughter) and was over by about £6 :rotfl: so this year I have set the target of FREE :rotfl: :rotfl: all presents have to be won or funded through sw*gbucks vouchers, s*perpoints vouchers. DH laughed at me last year but this year he's like my one man cheering squad :j :rotfl:

ooooh the QUOTE button, I've not used this in a long while!!! :rotfl:

It makes sense now hun and very sensible! I don't miss having to claim expenses as I got in such a muddle each month when I had no money, all credit cards maxed out, wouldn't get accepted for anymore credit yet work expected me to pay out about £500 per month in advance for work before being able to claim it back a month or so later... I was constantly worried about how I could afford to eat and I remember crying down the phone to HSBC desperate for them to increase my overdraft for a few days but they wouldn't. I can't tell you how glad I am to be in such a better position financially!!!

I'm off the dentist tomorrow (1st time in 7yrs as i'm papping myself...), he's a friend of mine so shouldn't be too bad and it's not like he'll be giving me injections tomorrow...I just need to keep remembering this and it'll be fine. I should think about it as I'm going to see my friend for a catch up in a comfy reclining chair in a room that's nice and clean and he likes to wear funny outfits.

Then I'm taking my grandma to her sister-in-laws caravan near Fleetwood (I think!) for a fortnights holiday!

On a serious note, I really need to get to grips with my spending though. I have spent way too much on gardening stuff. I now have a ban on going to garden centres! I guess it's cos I'm just starting out cos I've had to buy ooodles of pots and grow bags and seeds and plants and plant food and...the list goes on! Th annoying thing is that a lot of it has been for my parents garden in an effort to make it nice for them but it's cost me loads of money. Well that stops too.

We moved my older sister into her new place on Saturday, they are still renting but even so, it is stunning. I am sooooo jealous and not even in a good way. I feel really bitter about it as there are 2 of them so they can afford somewhere really special (it's a 3 bed town house which backs straight onto the side of a canal with gorgeous views and wildlife, massive windows and vaulted ceilings from each room... you get the picture... Green is not doing the colour I was justice...

I guess it just brought to the fore how unhappy I am with my life currently. I hardly ever go out unless it's just for tea for an hour or so, I live with my folks, I keep dreaming of my own home with a lovely garden and having non-existent friends round for a BBQ or dinner parties, my non-existent boyf giving me a hug... It's probably just the weather making it seem worse than it is but I just feel a bit meh with it all. I feel so out of touch with people my own age and it's scaring me.

SNAP OUT OF IT JEMMA AND GET A GRIP!!!!! :o It's in my power to change things so I should get up of my lazy !!!! and get out more!!!! :D
