I forgot to mention, I was looking online at homecare from British Gas (probably a good idea for us as it's our first home) and the quotes didn't seem too bad, we could afford it but I wasn't sure if I should go the whole hog and get the electrics covered too.
I figured I'd wait until I'd decided which to take out as it was a few pounds a month difference when they called me last night and offered me it cheaper than online and I could still get the nectar points.
I told them to ring me back tonight so I could work out my budget but if they do I'm impressed. I figured it would be cheaper online than over the phone.HSBC CC - £3000 / £3000

Kerri I think this could be an inspiration for next week, where can you squeeze more money from. A review of bills, tax code, Child tax credits. We all seem to be doing it in the last few days.
Nicole, its never easy. These things are sent to test us!thanks for the great idea.
Well payday for me, but June is an expensive month. I need two new tyres which will cost between £260-£290 depending on whether I need the wheels aligning or not. I also need an MOT grr. Then I need to keep as much money back as possible in case work send me to Montreal for two weeks. It'll be lovely to go there as OH will come and meet me on his way back from Fredricton, however I need to be able to pay for the flights out there and two weeks stay in a hotel....hmmm.
Anyway, I've paid the obligatory £90 to the DCA and will work out how much I can put into the OD repayment pot in a bit

Oh barclays why do you like to depress me so? Just had my annual summary through and last year I paid £103 in interest for using my overdraft
looks so much when you see it all in one go rather than £7 - £8 on the monthly statement
Resolution! Must get out of the overdraft! and to think 6 months ago I was paying that twice over as the other account was OD maxed as well  :eek:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000 -

Wow well done everyone!
Managed to speak to my parent and she is paying me £50 today as that's all she can manage so I think we can just about cover the bills tomorrow if my OH puts it in my bank today but I think it shuts at 40 -

Afternoon all!
J-M, July 1st is my final loan payment day. After tomorrow, I'll only have one payment left to make on it.
Nicole - I got it ages ago, not sure where from...it was a freebie from the MSE newsletter a few years ago. I think it's called Lime energy plug or something like that.
One more day to go.....0 -
Hello strangers! I hope everyone is well, I miss the banter on here!
Just stopping in to say although the debt busting isn't going amazingly well (though, watch this space... it's getting there!), I've nearly met my weight loss target already. The running is going well, I'm nearly back to the fitness I was before my mate ended up in hospital and the running took a back seat. Also, just booked a holiday to climb Kilimanjaro. Another challenge
Pop me down for 10lbsI'll need a new target soon!
