HELLO!!!!!:wave::wave: Sorry I've not been around for a few days but I've been seduced.... steady on! I meant by the weather unfortunately... :rotfl: I've had such a good few days out in the garden earthing up my potatoes, my peas are starting to flower
, we've been putting up fencing, I've been eating my first homegrown strawberries and I'm all excited by the rest of my veggies growing. I spent a little too much at the garden centre on Friday
but the gardens look fabulous now and it was sooooooo lovely to see the garden centre allotment to see how my plants will look (hopefully!) in a few weeks *jumps up and down like a child* :j:j:j:j
How are you all??? Have you been enjoying the sunshine peeps? I think we are going to have a fabulous total for May, we've only got a few days left so lets all dig deep into our pockets and knock our April total out of the water!!!! xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T
Debt at Highest: £43,073 :eek:0 -
I haven't updated my progress on the thread for ages for two reasons. Firstly I find it hard to keep up with how quickly things go on here! And secondly because I have been thoroughly ashamed (but ultimately unapologetic) for putting my debt-free date back a couple of months with a very conscious decision to have a trip to New York in August. We have justified this as we will still be DF (if present circumstances don't change) by Christmas 2012, and as I'm a teacher we're limited to when we can have holidays, and wanted to go in the big six-week break, but didn't want to wait until next year as we will hopefully have started our family by then.
Anyway...
Even with having paid for the biggest expense (flights) in advance, here's our current state of affairs:
PAID OFF £3,817 OUT OF £10,722, which is about 35%.
Overall I'm quite pleased with this as hopefully we will be able to still have our big trip and get DF by Xmas.
When I say paid off - I'm also counting savings in this, as we've got all our debt on 0% deals now until this time next year, and so we're saving to earn interest, but we could pay off the CCs with these savings, so I'm counting it towards our debt-free total!
We have had help recently: two successful PPI claims have given us about £1,500 to pay off cards.
Hope everyone else is doing well, I'm going to go and check on the progress on page 1!

Stupid Barclays. So I make an overpayment and they still take out the minimum payment, whereas last time I made an overpayment they didn't! Grrrrr!

I think it depends on how close your extra payment is to the date the dd is due to come out, if it's only a couple of days they probably don't have time to change it.£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

Nothing to report here, just waiting for DD to come out on Friday. Hubby has suggested not paying off his Cap1 as 1. we don't know how much he'll get paid next month due to being on Paternity leave (I've estimated it to be around £400 less than normal) and 2. we don't know how much tax credits we'll be receiving in June/July after baby is born (although they've estimated it to be around £200 more than what we are getting now).
So, I've agreed we'll be cautious and not pay any overpayments until we know both of these figures, just in case they're totally wrong! But if they're not by the end of July we should have around £800 sitting in the bank account which we can then throw at a couple of things.£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013
