Jemma, the reaction the poster wanted to get from people, is what they have achieved. Please don't feel guilty for actually having a life. Infact that poster has quite annoyed me (and some others it seems). I can't remember who commented and said that the poster in question had not directly asked a question or commented in OVER 10 PAGES!! If that poster is reading this and you have a direct question please ask again because we are all here to support one another not to get a raise from everyone. Much loves xxxx

OK totally random, off topic post here (lightly trying to defer the tension of this page :o)

Got a box of cereal I bought yesterday out of my store today and its 7 weeks out of date  Mr T I am not impressed! Have written to Mr T and Quakers about it (at £2.39 a box thats a fortune to throw in the bin )

Hopefully they will come back and offer me a replacement box, its the only cereal I can eat (stupid allergies) so though I had 12 other boxes in there (which are all in date :)) I dont see why I should be down a box because they dont check their BBD's :(

    Jakes-Mum,
I was in Walmart (Asda) yesterday and Lindt chocolate was on special offer, reduced from $2.97 to $2.47 so I figured I'd treat myself and spent ages deciding which flavour to choose. After I'd made my decision I turned the bar over ( I don't know why as I wouldn't normally) and noticed that the best before date was - wait for it- June 2011  Eleven months out of date and they're offering a measly 50 cents off! I checked the other bars of the same flavour and then the other bars of the other flavours and 3 out of the 4 flavours were out of date, the 4th variety were best before June 2012 :rotfl:

Another occasion a couple of years ago I needed some antihistamine tablets so I bought a 30 pack of one-a-day clarityn, part way through the pack I noticed they were out of date within the month, again they were on special offer. So it seems here in Canada just because something is on offer it's not because it's a promotion, it's because they are trying to clear out of date stock.

Trading standards much? I don't think it exists :(

Felt a bit down towards the end of yesterday so DS and I went and had a totally un-MSE morning buying clothes (in the charity shop so not too bad) and then a play in the park (gorgeous morning!!) with a coffee and an ice cream. Feel so much better that's a tenner well spent :)

SpagBol, some days it's just got to be done. A bargain priced pick-me-up, well done :T

Thanks Kerfuffle I got some Henne$ high waisted jeans for £4, look as new so I'm well chuffed :D:money:

Jemma thank you for updating, you go above and beyond with the epic post of comments too :T:T:T This thread is fabulous and it's taken 6 months before a flounce of sorts so you must be doing something right :)

Jesus, I am away for a few hours while I go to the cinema and all hell breaks loose!!!!

How dare you take time away from this thread  ;)

Hope you enjoyed the movie, what did you go see? I want to see Dark Shadows or the Hotel Marigold thing, but with the Dark Shadows I'm wary of the fact that all the best bits have been shown on the trailers already. I can't thoil to pay full price so I think I'll have to wait for Welfare Wednesday (equivalent of Cheap Tuesday :rotfl:)

Although I can't join in on the 40 plus club that is growing here (unless that is waist size ;-) ) I think there are quite a few of us that actually work in the financial industry. Bonglecat, and I think there might be one or two others.

Hi Superheavy  I'm one of those who work in the financial industry so I REALLY should know better. :o

Does that make me a member of 2 clubs now!! The "over 40's" & the "should know betters" :rotfl:

Spag Bol - well done for only spending a tenner on treats. I have been known to spend a LOT more when feeling sorry for myself :o

Thanks Spagbol and Kerfuffle and everyone else who's said lovely things :A:A:A

We went to see Avengers Assemble in 3D. It was very good but I think it was mainly down to having Chris Hemsworth and the guy who plays Agent Barton (my sisters don't agree with me here :rotfl:) in it. Scrumptious! :D:D:D (especially in 3D! :rotfl:) We went out for tea first and then in the cinema for 8.20pm showing. Didn't get back until 11.30pm!

I'm going to meet my sister for tea after work and discuss business opportunities (watch this space!). Out for 3 evenings in a row... I'm such a dirty stop out...or I would be if I hadn't spent the last 3 evenings 1) at a running club, 2) at the cinema with my family and 3) going for tea with my sister... At least it's an improvement on Saturday night! :rotfl:

Anyway, I've not finished the epic post but I'm going to post it anyway and start a new one... I'll changed the totals on the first page later though as this takes a while... xxx

Kerfuffle – Just glad you’re ok hun!

Canucksfan – how are you doing hun?

Natlie – Good to hear from you again and you are doing superbly! Only £5k to go now!!! Wedding first though, I’m so impressed with how quickly you have arranged it. It will be perfect!

Minicooper272 – well done on your payment and I hope you’re car is ok!

1stTimer – Welcome to the thread!

Lemonpopsicle – oooh what a good idea, I’ve got loads of coppers and bits of change lying around so will see if I can pay them off one of my CC’s tomorrow in the bank.

Ruthy1604 – Sounds like you had a great time in Blackpool, I love the Sea Life Centre... How are your courgettes...? I’m worried about planting mine out yet as it’s still really cold.

Vw campervan – HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR TOMORROW!!!

Miss_emmajane – I keep trying to meal plan but I’m just rubbish, it’s a fact.

Kerri_dfw – how is your sinus pain/earache? When is your crafting fair hun?

Dd1981 – any amount paid off is good so congratulate yourself!

Loubie_lou – You are NOT going to admit defeat missy!!! You can knuckle down, grit your teeth and keep plodding on like your life depended on it. If then you still don’t pay off your debts by Xmas then at least you gave it your best shot and will only have overshot by a couple of months. I’m just worried that if you feel you can’t hit the goal then you’ll lose your focus and will start to slip back to your old habits and you’ve done so well and are such a person that I don’t want that to happen xxx

Kerfuffle – awwww for your soon-to-be-grandchild, do you know if it’s a boy or girl yet? Sounds like you’ve a lot going on in the coming months!

Jakes-mum – the only good thing about your OH annoying you is that keep paying off more debt! Congratulations on hitting your 45% milestone, not long now until you’re at 50% and on the home stretch!

Shrewbie – I’ve changed your total, how was Brighton??? Did you have a great time?

Bardeduk – I love how you are adding up all your little savings to make payments, a real inspiration when that money could very easily be frittered away!

Choclover – liking your payments hun, keep them up!

Kc26 – congratulations on getting rid of your 4th creditor, you are doing absolutely superbly!!!

Cj75 – ooooh let us know how well your bra’s sell...

K30lly – have you had any bank charges for going over your overdraft hun?

Bonglecat – your post about extreme couponing made me laugh. I really should pull my finger out and look at the freebie, grabbit, couponing part of the forum but I always find myself at 10.30pm thinking “where has the time gone???”

1stTimer – oooh loving your updates, well done!

His missus – wow you definitely did have a spendy day! As long as that £3000 for your cruise is gone before you sail then all is good! Wow, I’m only on the otherside of the hill and our Zumba is £6!!! Scandlous...

FloridaFairy – YAY!!! You’re over 50% and it’s all downhill from here hun!

Fallenwiccan – hurrah for the budget shop! I’m definitely trying to do this, sometimes go over but pick myself up and try try again!

BrandNewStart – you’re brave! I don’t think many of us venture out onto the rest of the forum as it’s scary...! Besides, we’ve got debtbusting, weightloss, weekly challenges, bra making and “games” so there’s no need to go to the dark side...

Superheavy – not good about the spends on your car but hopefully if you find any more clothes that don’t fit you then you can start to claw the money back through ebay. What phone did you get? I can upgrade in a couple of weeks and I think I’m gonna go for the Samsung Galaxy SII. The sales woman tried to convince me to wait for the SIII but I laughed when she said I’d probably have to pay for my handset...As if!

Suzitiger – I definitely think it’s ok if your overpayments are going on your dd’s!

Mrs Addicted to Spending – when do you find out if you’ve passed hun?

Mrso2b – definitely good to have a plan! Sounds like you’re on top of your debtfree journey.

Avogirly – wow that was big payment, well done!

Jo84 – WAHOOO bye bye Wonga!!!!

Jakes mum - I once popped into Coop to see if thay had any yellow stickered food and they had a bag of spinach for 10p. Bargain I thought, it'd last a day or two at least but because it was dated use by the day before they refused to sell it to me! I asked if they would just give it to me and I'd put the money in the charity tin by the till if all they were goig to do is throw it away but they said they couldn't do that, it had to be thrown. Take no messing from Mr T, not that you would anyway; if I were Mr T I'd be afraid, very afraid...:rotfl:

Jemma - ;)you must go to posh zumba in a posh place, this is just in the local civic centre - still not plucked up the courage to go yet...

I'm good thanks. I was a bit down but now the sun is shining, I'm getting a tan, I'm planting flowers in my troughs/planters and hanging baskets so feeling much better. I think I'm begining to recognise that I get a little bit of SAD during the winter here as winter is soooooo long, so it's something I'll have to address next winter. Either a trip to Hawaii or a sun lamp, decisions decisions :rotfl:

Baby is a boy. I wasn't too bothered about knowing the gender beforehand as it's something we've never been told before, but actally it's quite good knowing. There have been a couple of worries so far but hopefully everything will work out okay :)

Thanks once again for your epic post, you're amazing :A

Random question but I just got a pack of baby new potatos out of the cupboard (not realising they should be in the fridge) they are dated best before 16/05... they have gone mushy. Should I still try and complain? Do i need to go in the shop or can I call their helpline?
