Evening all, OH is back at work, it was very strange coming home from work to an empty flat.
Yesterday we found out there's going to be redundancies at work, they're hoping to do it all voluntary or by people taking retirement or moving to other sites permanently. Today I had my 1-1 with my new manager who said I wasn't being given the chance to volunteer which is nice at leastI'm taking it as a sign that if it goes to compulsory I'll be fine.
Been arguing with Yodel today as I had a parcel from Amazon to be delivered yesterday guaranteed which they managed to lose, it's still not here yet so I got £5 back from Amazon (it was on my prime account as I get a lot from them it works out worth it in the end and this just made it £5 cheaper) but I'd still really like me parcel.
No more savings from me yet, will be a while yet as I have to make sure we're ok for the next month or 2 with OHs SSP and then I need to get car serviced and MOTd and boiler serviced too.
Hope everyone is okHSBC CC - £3000 / £3000

Hi affordmylife,
Good to see you here, I hope you're back with us to stay.
We all have bad days sometimes, so don't worry about it.
Sometimes when someone is having a bad day they don't respond as well as they should to somebody else having a bad day, so it's all swings and roundabouts really.
Today's hot topic is 'best before dates', so I'm afraid to say your little blow out is already old news :rotfl:(joke)0 -
So on the subject of 'best before dates' versus 'use by dates', I'm totally with Jakes-Mum on this one. I'm fully aware of the difference between the two dates and I personally don't have any problem with eating something that is best before or use by, but sure as chips are chips there's no way I'm going to pay full price, or some kind of insignificant reduction for the privilege.
If I happen to have anything in the fridge which I'm not sure whether I should eat it or not, then I just give it to hubby, he's got a cast iron stomach :rotfl:0 -

I keep my spuds in a special bag I bought from lake land that keeps them fresh for longer - it doesn't work though :rotfl:
his missus, Lakeland customer services are very good. When I've been unhappy with a purchase I've rung them and told them the issue I have and they've refunded the money, and told me not to bother returning the goods.0 -

Hurray!!! OH has agreed that we can move in together in September :j:j:j I may have had to explain the benefits of having our own place
but still..... I might not be devious like my sister, but I still have a way of getting my own way
That's going to save me £200pcm on cheaper rent, and he'll pay me £300pcm.
Is it bad that I had to involve MSE tactics to get him to see the light? "But lovely, we'll have £6k more saved if you move in with me...."
It's lovely reading everyones stories, hopefully they'll help others reading this thread realise that they're not alone and there is a way out
Kerri, Your post didn't sink in when I read it the first time, I just want to say congrats on the committment :TKissyKissyKaren41 wrote: »:rotfl:Gosh im glad im going to be debt free by xmasish as im sick of wishing month away till pay day lol this debt paying is so addictive got a tesco order due on friday hmmm do we really need to eat this week:rotfl: or shall I cancel it lol

KissyKissyKaren, I know just what you mean, the problem is when debtfreeness does finally arrive, there'll be something else happening in your life that you'll have to deal with. Getting rid of this debt is just one chapter in your life, there's lots more different chapters to come yetOmg grr to fleabaythey just removed one of my listings. It was 22 quid!! k30lly, I didn't know that, I'm sure I've read lots of people mentioning that they've sold used cosmetics. That's something else I've learnt about today, potatoes and cosmetics :rotfl:
Jakes-Mum, Hubbies do have their uses from time to time, but obviously we don't tell them thatMine comes in particulary useful when we're eating out and my chicken doesn't taste 'right'.:D
