Right, I managed to get up to page 67 so will return tomorrow...

SpagBol – wow, how amazing will it feel to have that £800 extra for you to spend on what you want and don’t have to give a cut to the fat cats in the banks!!! What is your goal for the Christmas this year hun? (I don’t mean the £58k you pledged in the challenge, more just wondering how much you actually want to get down to by Xmas?) Do you think you’ll be in the £30k’s???? How amazing would that be! How come there’s such a delay from the tax office?! I submitted my mileage claim on 18th April and I got my cheque last Saturday! Fab news that your friends are supporting you in the no eating out/takeaways thing, it shows that they are true friends who like you for being you.

It will be life changing  I will buy the boys passports and take them on a holiday abroad every year (in addition to the camping one because we do actually enjoy it and I'm going to find it tough going from a £200 holiday to a £1000 one!!) We can go for days out and have new clothes. I can buy people nice presents. I will have savings (not done since I was a schoolgirl!) Our car will work properly :rotfl::rotfl:

In my head I am hoping for at least 50% so £30k would be fabulous but in my heart I am still going for 100% :rotfl::rotfl:

To be fair my older friends are not so understanding because some haven't settled down yet so a) haven't got babysitting problems and a mountain of debt and b) still enjoy going out. Our social life is buzzing with other families from the kids school who are all lovely and have similar money worries and can't get a babysitter. So it suits us all to stay in or have a BBQ in the park rather than go out :T:money:

his missus, Lakeland customer services are very good. When I've been unhappy with a purchase I've rung them and told them the issue I have and they've refunded the money, and told me not to bother returning the goods.

I've had it ages though, at least it stops the potatoes from rolling out of the cupboard when I open it ;)

Been for another free swim this morning but need to go shopping tonight for washing powder as we've run out (and cat food too). I better have lost 2lbs more this week after a 13 mile walk on Sat, cycle on Sunday and swimming 3 mornings this week...

Payday tomorrow too :) Already set up payment for catalogue (had to buy some new trousers - in the sale -as my work pants had become hipsters) so will be paid off in full. Will pay some off the CC too but, as I put £63 on it over the bank hol weekend, I may not manage to make much of a dent in it :o

Have a good day all xx

affordmylife - we all have bad days, feel free to rant about what's bugging you (rather than just vent your anger) sometimes it helps to let it out to a bunch of strangers, we've all probably been there or close to there at some point x

Morning all! Hope everyone is well today. I'm very excited because we (finally) managed to get olympic tickets :j. Even better, because my mum has worked so hard for the last few months her work is paying for the tickets and two nights in a travelodge :j. I guess it helps that she works for / with her brothers and they want her to manage the farm while they go to the boxing :rotfl:.

I have also just checked and I think I have enough in avios to get me, mum and my sister a one day London Pass each (with travel) :j. So we can have a whole day of sightseeing in London where we just pay for food and drink, followed by a full day (10.30am to 4.15pm) at the show jumping, where we will also only be paying for food and drink.

I am uber excited, particularly because we aren't having a family holiday this year. We weren't expecting to be able to afford to do anything really, because I'm going back to uni and my youngest sister starts in September. While I'm funding myself, I don't think my parents are looking forward to having my three siblings at uni at the same time. Even things like paying petrol to drop them off / pick them up with all their stuff costs a fortune!
