Hey hey hey, when on earth did you get below the £50k's...??????? I can't believed I've missed that amazing milestone! Well done my dear, you've worked damned hard to reach that and I'm very proud of you :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

well my rock n roll lifestyle continues today with me at some point finishing my updating then building a wigwam out of bamboo for my peas! I'm also going to go through all my stuff and pull out everything to be put on ebay and get them photographed/photoshopped. I need to nip to poundland later and get some more decent sized pots as all my onions need repotting... why oh why did I buy a pack of 250 onions... :rotfl: I'm then meeting up with my friend at 3pm and we are going for an uber long walk then foody.
p.s. starting to get very nervous about joining the running club tomorrow although I went to a running shop yesterday for new trainers and the guy knows the harriers and says they are a lovely bunch of people who make even their competitors feel very welcome so I'm also excited too. I guess the first time is always the hardest...xxx

Psycho, you an me both (but I'm 23, and it was malibu)! What exciting lives we lead... The downside to moving away from home for work has been leaving everyone I know 400 miles behind. We must get lives!
Well this week I've paid off the CC (again!). Putting a set monthly budget into a separate bank account is also working really well - I know no payments come off that account, which helps me know what's in the account at all times. I think I'll easily have £100 change at the end of the month to top up my debt payments.
Anyhoo, after all that, this weeks debt update is:

Aw shucks thanks  It has been a hard slog but DH and I did some overtime and extra work and it all came in at once so I made a big payment last week :j:j
Still a huge mountain to climb and £11k of the debt is OD which I am ignoring until the CCs are done now, even though they will all be on 0% when this CC is paid off (it's £5.7k sadly until my next chow mein I just checked! :rotfl:) the clock it ticking until the 0% periods end and I am deperate to pay off rather than transfer! CC debt is now down to about £38k don't know whether toor
The takeaways taste AMAZING we used to have a chinese or indian weekly with some emergency chip shops and ready meals in the week. The rule is now we aren't allowed to socialise in pubs, restaurants etc. but can have people over for dinner and drinks or go to people's houses. Lots of people keen to help us so that's good :T It just shows how much we spent on rubbish really to get in this pickle if that's how much we can pay off in 4.5 months...
Well done again on your cash injections, did your tax office sort it out on the phone? They are being quite unhelpful with me and I think I'm due at least £1k so would like to get it sooner rather than later!!DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Helloooooooooo DF'ers
been having a look on eb*y for tap shoes and jazz shoes for Miss Lily, she is hounding me now for her 'noisy shoes'. The pair I just watched finish ended up selling for £11 delivered  they are only £13 new off the dance websites! Shall keep watching as dont really need them for at least 2 weeks and the dance studio did say they would have a rummage for me as well
Am about to have a quick peek at the bank to see if there is any spare pennies for a little payment and am thinking should I make an order for DR burgers as today is the last day they are on offer?? my freezer is full but I could order them for 3 weeks or so time . . .SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
I wouldnt mind some opinions from the group - I noticed one or two of you have claimed on PPI. I had a loan that I settled early that I took partial PPI on - just critical illness, not redundancy. My husband thinks I should try and claim it back as it was a £25k loan, but I work in the banking industry so I knew what I was buying. So I was going to leave it, but since he said that I wonder if I'm being a mug not to.
What does everyone think? The more I think about it the more I wonder whether it would be a good idea to make a dent in the debt, but it would feel like lying:xmastree:POMDB Xmas 2013 Board - Paid off £12k in 2012 :j:j :xmastree:

If I was you I would probably go for it. PPI has been exposed as a product that was on shaky ground and wasn't properly thought through. All the banks have put money aside in order to cover these refunds, so unless you'll be claiming against your employer, then I would go for it.DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

The thing is, how would you have felt if they sold it to you then you coudn't actually claim when you needed it? The banks lied to lots and lots of people in order to sell them PPI which has now resulted in the current situation. I say go for it... just omit some info and tell them you were told you had to have it or something... not lying, but just altering the truthplease don't have a conscience over something that means so little to them

Oh no, I have just caught up with yesterday. Camuk, just wanted to pass on my hug to you. Don't give up, it's tough but you can do it. Any overpayment, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction.
I don't know if anyone else reads them, but I find dipping into the debt free diaries a real motivator.
Well, get me! While all you youngsters were at home last night I was at a breakdance/hip hop festival. You'll be glad to know I didn't throw any moves :rotfl::rotfl:!Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020
