Fantastic payment, and thanks for the comment about DH body! Nearly spat my (lidl, 27p) tea out!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry about the husbands who have been falling a bit behind in the common sense stakes. What is it with men? Trouble is it turns you into a complete control freak, can't remember the last time DH was allowed to go grocery shopping.:o

Well, a friend gave DH £5 petrol money yesterday, DD had packed lunch today saving £2 and there was an odd 42p in the current account, so another £7.42 to the card.

    #319 £4567.70/£6109.94

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.:D

It would have been funnier if you could see my H! :rotfl::rotfl:

He is pretty rubbish too but luckily whilst he hasn't had a LBM himself as such he has totally surrendered to mine so I now hold his cards and have access to his internet banking, it means he has no control but he seems to be happier that we are cracking it. Give him an inch and he'll take a mile though, If I give him his card to get his train pass for example he'll get something at the deli for lunch  but at least I can see it and give him a rollocking :p

I blame my MIL for not teaching him anything about money or common sense!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I need you guys to tell me whether I am nuts or not...(wait until I explain Jakes-mum!!!:rotfl:)

This challenge is tough (paying off almost £17k in a year!) and I feel I need another challenge next year. I will obviously be doing a savings challenge with some of you guys on here (I think Kerri has mentioned taking over???) but I wanted a challenge that will get me fit...

Soooooooooooooo.... I'm thinking of doing 2013kms in 2013 using only human power (so running, cycling, rowing and walking). This is 38.7kms per week (or just over 24miles per week) My friend has just asked if I want to get a mountain bike and we'll go out together as we can rack up a lot of miles on a bike as opposed to running/walking. I'd need to cap the number of kms on the bike though as, at an average beginners speed of 12mph, then I will hit my weekly target in just 2 hours and I want it to be a challenge!

What do you guys think? Am I just nuts or do you think it's a good challenge??? xxx

p.s. I don't have a mountain/road bike, stationery bike or a rowing machine so I will need to get these. oh and my running trainers desperately need replacing so that'll be another £85... :(

Go Jemma go! Fantastic challenge. I'd join you but . .:rotfl::rotfl:

Hmm I apparently wasn't feeling 100% yesterday when I did my mr T order.... I have batteries, hayfever tablets, pizza, icecream, curly fries, cream cheese, tinned spaghetti and custarad doughnuts. I don't really have anything that makes a proper meal though, oops!

This sounds fantastic. I'll bring the bread sticks and we can see this off in a couple of hours. Except the batteries. Mmmm, lead.

Has anyone rented a car recently for a non business trip? Have you had to pay any extras when you got to the depot that you did not know about?

I pre booked one to pick up Thursday and i've only just read the small print (silly me) and all I can see is taking deposits of several hundred pounds on a credit card in my name, non of which I have! I rang them up today just to be on the safe side and all they are going to do is pre authorise my debit card with some fuel deposit in case i dont fill up the car on my return.

    Doesn't stop me worrying though!
    In debt no more!

I'm cheering myself up about the lack of expenses money showing in the b/a by watching good old Jezza on the television....now then Jakes-mum there's some absolute wallys on there that I don't think your hubby could even compete with :p

DH just turned round and went 'what! what! what is it??' as I just started giggling uncontrollably at that :rotfl:. I love watching Maury 'I cant be that baby's daddy, I dont make girls' or my all time favourite 'she cant be mine, she aint black enough' (mum was white :rotfl:)

How strange, I say the exact same thing about my DH :rotfl:. I also like to say that I reacon she was sniggering behind her Hymn sheet on my wedding day, knowing what I was taking on :D

Jemma - Check Ebay for rowing machines as they go wuite cheap on there, also worth looking for mountain/road bikes as you might be able to save a few quid if you dont mind picking things up. I sold our rowing machine (the one DH was going to use every day *rolls eyes*) for about £20 (I also bought it off ebay so didnt feel to bad :o). I think 2013km in 2013 is a great idea and possibly mix it in with marathon training. . . . I shall live serruptitiously through you :T
