Yes, we get paid every 2 weeks here - all our repayments are a combo of mine and DH's. I am hoping to get the last of it paid back by the summer and then I will finally be able to relax! I came here with so many plans of traveling - not even to Vegas or Hawaii like my work colleagues - I would be happy with a weeks camping on Vancouver Island! Do u have anything planned for the summer?
Yes I have seen Housewives and what fine specimens of womanhood they are too- ha ha! Vancouver itself is v photogenic and I like the shots taken of English Bay and Stanley Park. If u ever fancy a visit - I would make u a cup of real tea ( brought over by my mother). Mind you, I ration the tea and one bag would be dipped in each mug! You understand I'm sure!
Well your fortnightly payments are really going some, I hope you achieve your Summer target too. Hubby and I don't have any definate holiday plans this year, my daughter is due to give birth in September and my parents are coming over in October so we're pretty restricted. So we're thinking in October we may go away for short trips with my parents to Banff and Waterton, and then after we've returned home, then go for another trip down through the Okenhagen. But I soooooo want to go to Hawaii sometime :T, we were supposed to go for our 25th wedding anniversary last year but that didn't happen, maybe for our 30th instead
I'm really not liking Jody at the moment .
I'd go anywhere for a decent cup of tea :rotfl:I've stopped ordering it in cafes and restaurants cos it's just not made properly here. Just stick to my homemade one bag in the teapot method :rotfl:Even Tetleys and Twinnings doesn't taste the same, sometimes the Tetleys tastes like fish  (in my opinion) Which tea does your Mum bring you over? I have some Betty's Earl Grey for very special occasions!

I'm so with you on this feeling kerri, I really need to get my botty in gear to do more
I'm very jealous of everybody's Bank Holiday plans, but love reading about what everybody is doing and your trips to places. Ruthy I was virtually in Blackpool with you.0 -

I think I have to admit defeat in paying ALL my debts off before Christmas  Unless I win a small fortune of course.
I'm pretty much with you on this one loubie-lou, even if I got a job tomorrow I'd have trouble making the payments to reach my target. I think I can safely assume that I will be here next year :rotfl:Not sure how I feel about that.

Yes, I'm with you both on that one...it will take us at least 2 years to be completely debt free (other than mortgage) but even if we can pay off half by xmas 2012 (which we could just about do- we are on about 13% I think as from tomorrow) we will be in a much better position, that's how I'm trying to look at it. Hopefully my obsession to get this debt shifted will continue otherwise the last 4 months will have been in vain!

Hi SpagBol, my target for this year isn't my full amount either, so if I include the full amount then at today's date I'm at 14.47%. So kiddo it's looks like we're both going to be sticking around :rotfl:0 -
Glad there are some people in the same boat. I've stupidly allowed myself to have too much 'fun' time, which is a silly thing to say but never mind! Hopefully will be in the first few months of 2013In debt no more!0

Well I will still be here next year, I don't fancy joining the savers boards (apparently none of the boards are as friendly as this one, but I can't say that for certain), so I shall just come along onto here with all my virtual DFW friends and class my savings as debt to myself
I think my target for next year will be £10k saved, so I shall start in January owing £10k to myself and work down from there, paying myself £1 a day or whatever until I reach my goal. I mean, come on, if I can pay off £6k in one year, then £10k should be easy given that I won't be paying interest they'll be paying me
But, to anyone thinking "oh this challenge isn't for me as I won't have achieved it by this year", we'll be here again next year so you can declare an amount for this year, and then in January another amount for 2013
Afterall, I'd miss you all if I didn't keep talking on here xxDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

I actually like the fact my percentage is so pitifully low, it is certainly a constant boot up the bum!! I have never been so determined to make a change and I think a lot of that is down to this board :T
Good idea about the savings Kerri, I hope that will be me at some point next year and def for 2014.
I am still wildly optimistic that DH will get a huge payrise or we'll find £20k in an old pocket or something :rotfl::rotfl: so am going to bust my gut to get this debt down in 2012 but am ok with the fact that we probably won'tDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
OK is it only me who thinks my DH is a complete idiot sometimes  hes only gone and taken £10 out of one of those poxy cash machines that charges you
His excuse 'I didnt know it charged' umm it says in big letters on the screen before you take the money, 'oh I was trying to save money by having some cash to buy coffee from the burger van instead of from the coffee shop' well done you, your 'money saving' idea cost us 20% interest. Sometimes I do dispair, I really believe that he is trying to sabotage my debt paying at times
Well because I was so narked, I paid another £25 off one fo the credit cards (no idea which one, just picked a random one off the list) so new total is:
