I'm more annoyed that I need to buy a quilting hoop and some bits for making things for the craft fair. So I've been naughty and spent on my cc again, but it's still within my budget so I can pay it straight back. Soooo annoying though.

DH is looking at cars (by car I mean great big hulking land rovers ) as I have decided that a bike is just a stupid idea for him with his ankles. I can see an arguement brewing, as though I dont expect my 17 stone DH to drive round in a clio I do expect a bit of thought to be given to the cost of running the thing ;)

I swear my life is like an episode of corrie! Maybe I should contact ITV to come film us . . . hmmm possible new debt busting idea formulating as we speak :D

I wish Jakes-Mum :rotfl::rotfl: no that money is from overtime (and some second job work) payments from both me and DH this month. It is hard work but worth it for the 4 paydays a month :D

I still need to think about selling DH's body to get the £1850 we need for my target by the end of the month. Might go and rummage around in my bra drawer too :rotfl:

Fantastic payment, and thanks for the comment about DH body! Nearly spat my (lidl, 27p) tea out!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry about the husbands who have been falling a bit behind in the common sense stakes. What is it with men? Trouble is it turns you into a complete control freak, can't remember the last time DH was allowed to go grocery shopping.:o

Well, a friend gave DH £5 petrol money yesterday, DD had packed lunch today saving £2 and there was an odd 42p in the current account, so another £7.42 to the card.

    #319 £4567.70/£6109.94

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.:D

I need you guys to tell me whether I am nuts or not...(wait until I explain Jakes-mum!!!:rotfl:)

This challenge is tough (paying off almost £17k in a year!) and I feel I need another challenge next year. I will obviously be doing a savings challenge with some of you guys on here (I think Kerri has mentioned taking over???) but I wanted a challenge that will get me fit...

Soooooooooooooo.... I'm thinking of doing 2013kms in 2013 using only human power (so running, cycling, rowing and walking). This is 38.7kms per week (or just over 24miles per week) My friend has just asked if I want to get a mountain bike and we'll go out together as we can rack up a lot of miles on a bike as opposed to running/walking. I'd need to cap the number of kms on the bike though as, at an average beginners speed of 12mph, then I will hit my weekly target in just 2 hours and I want it to be a challenge!

What do you guys think? Am I just nuts or do you think it's a good challenge??? xxx

p.s. I don't have a mountain/road bike, stationery bike or a rowing machine so I will need to get these. oh and my running trainers desperately need replacing so that'll be another £85... :(

my friend is currently running 3 miles a day, every day (if he runs 6 in one day, he still has to do 3 the next day) to raise money for charity so i don't think your idea is that crazy :)

Jemma, get the runners from Sp0rts D1rect they're cheaper I got my runners for about £50 and they should have been at least twice that :) Also, I said I'd take over??? I don't mind doing that but I think I said I would still be here not take over :p You can't go disappearing on us when you finish though, we'll miss you xx Oh and you should save a few ££ each week to buy yourself a bike when the January sales come along. When your debts are gone you'll feel much better about life, and taking on too much at once can make it all go to pot. OR freecycle for a bike in the meantime and save up for a nice shiny one when you are debt free whoop whoop :)

I'm cheering myself up about the lack of expenses money showing in the b/a by watching good old Jezza on the television....now then Jakes-mum there's some absolute wallys on there that I don't think your hubby could even compete with :p

ooooh that means he will be doing 1762klms which is not far from my 2013kms. Right, mind made up. I'm going to try it for a few weeks and see what mileage I'm racking up. :D

ETA: obviously I will have to try doing the mileage running and walking as I don't have any other equipment yet!

No I'm working from home, which is great as I don't have to get up at stupid o'clock and I can have the television on so I don't get lonely :) watching funniest animals now, sooo cute!

You should definitely wait for the equipment, have it as a "hurray I'm debt free" present, like my food dehydrator is going to be for me :) xx

You mentioned earlier I think about training for a Marathon? When I trained for ours I was doing the bare minimum and did about 20 miles a week at least for a few months, why don't you check Runners World at the training schedule for a marathon and see how many miles that would clock up (then convert to km) perhaps do a half in the spring and a marathon in the autumn and see how many km that would be over the year?
