Am in desparate need of reducing my stockpile: it is really comforting to have but seems to be taking over and have started hiding stuff from OH :o. Most of it he knows about but not the last approved foods order :rotfl:or the previous one come to that!

Seriously, I have about 160 toilet rolls, over 100 tins of tomatoes (? 40 am I in GQ's gleauewere frAF om last order) down to about 60 tins of baked beans now but did have about 150, two freezers full of meat, loads of rice and pasta, dried beans, soup mix, bread flour etc. We are lucky enough to have a walk in larder which is full, plus the overflow is [STRIKE]hiding[/STRIKE] stored in the outside store.

Oh yes and about 30 bottles of wine for cooking - we've got 6 boxes for drinking as well! Let's not start on cleaning products or toiletries...

Think I may need help - "Hi my name's Kate and I'm addicted to stockpiling" :o can someone please hide my Costco card to save me from myself.
:D:D It's more a case of me not being in your league, hun; I've never had a many as 100 tins of tommies. In the high eighties, currently about 65 cans on the premises. I could tell you exactly if I were at home but where the Inventory is always handy, but I'm at a rellie's place.

I have also hoarded Tesco's cream cleanser at 32p a bottle and copious amounts of soda crystals (which have gone up 40p a pack since I got mine) and washing-up liquid. It is entirely possible that I won't need any of the above for a few years.

The t.p mountain is down to 36 rolls so I am excited to learn the tip about FF (Nicky brand) as I live near one and get the vouchers from time to time.

This weekend I took a 3 quid off 20 quid till-spit to Tesco and stocked up on limescale toilet cleaner at 2 for 1.20 which only puts them back where they were last year, and have added 5 cans of sardines to the Pile. Hey, they're good until 2015, boys and girls...........

Strangely, I find that stockpiling causes less waste as it involves thinking about how much of something I use, how long I take to use it, checking expiry dates, holding stuff against an inventory etc etc.

I'm safe from the wilder extremes of stockpiling mania as I don't have a car, have a tiny home and it's thus self-limiting.

:o I shall be adding to my stamp stockpile tho; such an easy win if you have the cash and they take up hardly any space.:p

:D Nah, each to their own.

Anyroad, I have a recollection that you are current Custodian of the TeaBag Mountain (Scottish Division). G'wan, how many thousands of them are in the cupboards?

I'll surender ahead of time; I'm trialling a new brand and only have about 160................:rotfl:

  • I have ‘The Great Wall of Cat Food’ in our spare room. Our OAP cats have gone from own brand tins costing about £18 a month to expensive branded senior cat pouches costing about £70 a month (at normal prices) I discovered Mr S are doing 2 boxes of pouches for £5 (cost well over £4 a box at Mr T) and I’ve had several money off vouchers eg £2 off £20 at Mr S so have a wall of cat food. In fact planning to pop there again today as need other bits I get specifically at Mr S and if the offer’s still on, it would be rude not to partake me thinks!

Does anyone get comments from other shoppers if you bulk buy stuff? I have had lots of friendly comments about having lots of cats when I go to Mr S and buy several boxes of cat food but rarely any comments when I fill my trolley with loo rolls at F Foods! :D
    sq:)

Our great wall of catfood is in the garage :D
Sainsbugs does the 2 for £5 offer fairly often and we then just get a big delivery. We normally manage to get £10 or so off a £70 shop as well so its even better. I also bought 10 boxes of Whisk*s every day the mrT offer was on so we have a fair few of those as well.
We often get asked how many cats we have (5 + a neighbours who visits and a stray we feed):D
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

Glad to be of help.I might have been misleading when I said that the mincemeat cheesecake was 'good'.It is quite simply a sinfully delicious cake and well worth the effort!:D

It's only recently that I've organised an inventory for my stockpile.I have a few items past their use-by date. One said item was a 1kg cardboard container of brown rice. When I opened it the other day,a moth flew out and I could see 'activity' in the box!:eek::eek:.It really turned my stomach. So,I have been having a spring clean of my stockpile and cupboards.Unopened treacle that is one year out of date is ok IMHO,but I'm being quite ruthless.

In the past I have often bought too much of one thing.I forget that it takes me a while to get through the stock that I have, living on my own.Lesson learnt.:o
