marmite, thanks for your suggestion but I have tried squashing the roll. Makes no difference whatsoever.

My son in particular, who has a relationship with the bathroom that I just cannot understand - 40 minute showers, 20-30 minutes on the loo, 20-30 just to trim his beard!, seems to think that the loo genie will always have another loo roll at his disposal! Is it my household or do men in general seem to have this weird thing that they need to spend wayyyyy more time in the bathroom than us women? The ex-Mr booklover would easily spend 30-40 minutes each morning preening himself while I got myself and two children ready. WHAT DO MEN DO IN THERE???? Is this one of life's imponderables?

    Tha teabread recipe is actually from the BBC's 'Good Food:101 Cakes & Bakes'.ISBN 978 0 563 52114 3.It's a great baking book.You'll find the recipe here:

    www.food.com/recipe/mincemeat-and-marzipan-tea-bread-215231

The top tends to burn a bit,so I always cover it when it's baking.Enjoy!

I've made this a few times and its lovely.

I've just added three 250g jars of Bovril to my stockpile.

Tesco. Normally £3.20, reduced to £2.70 until 15 April. I did use a £1.50 Clubcard voucher. Best before dates July & August 2013.

Their own brand 240g jars at £2.77 have mysteriously disappeared from the shelf.

ASDA only do the 125g jars of Bovril for £2.00. They don't do an own brand version.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Am in desparate need of reducing my stockpile: it is really comforting to have but seems to be taking over and have started hiding stuff from OH :o. Most of it he knows about but not the last approved foods order :rotfl:or the previous one come to that!

Seriously, I have about 160 toilet rolls, over 100 tins of tomatoes (am I in GQ's league? 40 were from last AF order) down to about 60 tins of baked beans now but did have about 150, two freezers full of meat, loads of rice and pasta, dried beans, soup mix, bread flour etc. We are lucky enough to have a walk in larder which is full, plus the overflow is [STRIKE]hiding[/STRIKE] stored in the outside store.

Oh yes and about 30 bottles of wine for cooking - we've got 6 boxes for drinking as well! Let's not start on cleaning products or toiletries...

Think I may need help - "Hi my name's Kate and I'm addicted to stockpiling" :o can someone please hide my Costco card to save me from myself.

Annie both HB and Farmfoods do the same loo roll. Its fab called Nicky. You can get different colours as such and really im X Andrew and its fab. It works out to be 18 rolls for £4. They also do Nicky kitchen roll. Do try it im sure you will convert to it. Im wondering if around 50 bottles of softner and a good 20 packs of nappies is something I should confess to?

Yes me too a terrible stock piler. I have the same tomato and pasta issues as alot of you.

I use the 18 of toilet roll from Home Bargains and have to say they do the job. I have stopped buying 3 packets at a time now, but then they did go up by a pound last year so sometimes stockpiling works :T
