Stockpile!

Mine is massive, way tooooooo big. I've done an inventory and find I have about 3 months supply of tinned food, a freezer full to the top with allsorts and far too many packets of things like lentils and barley, about 2 years worth.
So new years resolution is to EAT THE STOCKPILE. Then theres the other stock pile, shampoo, toothpaste etc. At least 6 months supply. another resolution USE THE STOCKPILE.:o
Anyone else in this position?

I had a huge toilettries stash, mainly freebies so travel-sized. Last Xmas (2010) I sorted through them and decided to use up all the non-special ones (I kept the brand names and ones I like for me to use when on trips away). I started using them in the Jan, and didn't buy shower gel or conditioner for whole of 2011, managed 6 months of shampoo and 3 months of facewash!!! I followed the No More Toilettries thread on the Health & Beauty Moneysaving board and found this helped!

In relation to food I can't help you there, I panic if I have less than 10 tins of both beans and tinned tomatoes!!

hmm - I have about six weeks worth of the basics - no room for more! If I did I would stockpile for at least a year or so! the way prices are going up!
  • I am another who is not touching the stockpile, prices are rising too fast and we lose Family allowance and CTC for DS in 2013 so we will need everything we have plus more that I intend to buy this year just to keep us afloat.
The trick to food stores is to rotate well and use something from the store every day and replace it with fresh when you go shopping.

I also have too much stock.
But coming from a house with very little food wise whilst young I understand why I feel the need to stockpile.

I have lost my job and partner within the last few months and have felt very relaxed regarding the food situation. In fact DD and I have proved to live quite handsomely on my obsessive hoard. (Although we still have probably a years worth left)

My point being its not always a bad thing. :)

    Xmas Saver!
I have a stock pile of shower gel and bosy butters and nearly everything else, we had a sort out and there was 40 bottles of showergel!

i like the posh ones so I ask when boots have done the offer of week b4 xmas, raided boots cards, had some for prezzies, and hit 75% sales!, and if I go to body shop - one at street in Somerset - clearance shop, showergels for £2, where as there £6 normally, so stock up, am working through them slowly. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

toiletries.. HA.. unless you have been an Avon rep you have no idea the magnitude of the problem.. I 'stockpiled' 4.5 YEARS worth of bubble bath, 2 years of shampoo and I am still working my way through the hand cream!!... I stopped doing Avon 9 years ago...

I don't even know how I ended up with so much but I still occasionally find samples and bottles of face creams and lip balms I have had untouched for all that time!

Food doesn't last 5 minutes, I don't have room for 3 months food for my swarm of locusts.. I'd have to buy Costco! I am lucky if I can manage 3 weeks.

My stockpile cupboard isn't a match for any of yours, but it still gives the tartan bits of my DNA a warm and fuzzy feeling, everytime I open the door.

I used to have an amazing stockpile, then I fell pregnant and was sick for 9 very long months... the food I was eating was expensive, so to keep us reasonably in budget each month we used the stockpile. I had 3-6 months of everything... now it's all GONE!!

I buy everything monthly now as I don't have the storage, when I move I have the understairs cupboard in the kitchen. I hope to utilise that for stockpiling (instead of behind the sofa!!)
