well done tattycath- was it a car boot find? care to share what it was
?
thought i'd share how i decluttered our living room. well our ds-sons friend was coming over and i didn't want him to see the mess, so i grabbed a few bag for life's and filled them with everything that didn't belong in the room. this made it much easier to then relocate anything meant for the room & clean the room. later, while the boys were playing noisily!, i escaped to my room & i sorted through all the 3 bags and 2 baskets and found a home for everything i was keeping:j . married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
All finished - 11 items sold - £61.50 - thats good ratio for me - lots didnt sell but some relisted already - another load from our two day garage declutter (and we still havent finished!!!) so need to do the boring bit and take some photos.
Chardonnay - great idea, thought I was the only one who had to tidy for visitors coming! I look forward to the day, people phone and I dont lose a stone having to run around tidying before they get here! I know a woman who puts all the 'should not be in this room' stuff in a basket. The basket is binned each Saturday at 1pm - if you want the stuff you need to take it out before the deadline. It worked wonders with her teenagers, week 3 an empty basket was waiting for her at 1pm!!!
Tattycath - just dying to know what you sold, very nosy arent I (sorry).

It was a porcelain bird, I actually found it in a charity shop!!! I was pretty amazed when I looked at it. The best bit is that I had asked to see a porcelain trio, and it wasn't what I thought it was, so I felt a bit like I should show an interest in something else, then I saw the bird figurine and couldn't believe my luck when I recognised the make on the base. I don't know how I managed to hide my surprise when the assistant told me it was only £1, I kept rechecking it for invisible repairs and couldn't believe it was in perfect condition.
I do find some stuff at car boots that I decide to resell and make money on. The first decent sale I made on ebay over 5 years ago was a musical figurine. I found it at a car boot sale and paid 10pence for it-it was of no particular make and I sold it for £12.99-good profit!!! It played a Mary Hopkin track-those were the days, and I described it as being musical-though didn't say that after a few repeats it irritates the s**t out of you and I didn't say what the song was either-I didn't lie I was just a bit vague. The buyer was delighted. lolGE 36 *MFD may 2043

Sometimes, I'm not so lucky and end up buying a crock of s**t!!! but the good outweighs the bad-touch wood.
By the way, whenever we have visitors we do a mad dash tidy up just prior to their arrival!!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Seems like we've all had Ebay items ending tonight.
IN:
Lego - 9yo got it at a car boot
2 Delphiniums
OUT:
Nothing
EBAY:
Well all 7 items sold for a total of £102.98
I am thrilled as that will go a long way towards a trampoline for the boys. :j
Have a further 3 items due to end next Sunday.
Bids on 1 item totalling £2.99 and 21 watchers. :T
Can't wait for the Ebayers to pic up their purchases as they are all large items.
So come on Tattycath - what was it?????Oops you've just said!
I was chuffed that I sold 2 childrens toys that I bought secondhand 10 years ago. I bought them for £15 and sold them for £27!Not bad as my 2 boys got years of use from them too!
Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
