My two new chest of drawers have arrived and I'm up to my oxters (armpits) in tops, bottoms and assorted others! Now I'm trying to decide if I should colour-sort the Tshirts (white in one drawer and blue in another etc) or if that's just a tad too OCD!!

There is so much also going out.. there's a pile for charity shop, a pile for school and a pile for the People's Kitchen. I've also found 3 lip balms, 4 packets of paracetamol and 3 half empty/full packets of chewing gum!!

    I'm loving it....

Now found 2 Tilley hats and 4 other woolly/rainproof hats!

I've taken a black bag of unwanted towels to the Cat and Dog Shelter  and a bag of unwanted clothes to Oxfam, bag of useless stuff to the bin and another bag to go tomorrow.

I can't tell you how good it feels to have the bedroom in a state of order. Many thanks to the OP and the others who have kept me going with their own comments. I don't often post but lurk a great deal and take advantage of the wisdom and knowledge of others - so :T:T

Well done Gers. Sounds like the sort of thing I've been doing. :T

I've unearthed all sorts of stuff this week. I found a bag of rubbish from a previous sort out hiding under the things I've just been trying to sort out :o

I've decided I might dip a toe in the eBay pool. I have some items I could put on pick up only cos they're too bulky to post and too good to go straight to Freecycle without at least trying to get a few pennies for them. That might help get me hooked. My concern with the posting of items is that I'm a terrible one for getting things done if I don't do them straight away and I'd rather wait until the house is a little less topsy turvy so I at least know where the item is when I come to wrap it up to send :o:D

really pleased with our decluttering efforts. hubby has been very busy. he cleared the clutter from the top of our wardrobe and has moved our ebay boxes of selling and to be listed stuff there instead (all labelled). photo albums which were on top of the wardrobe have now been moved to a shelf in the hall cupboard and other stuff has been put in the loft.

the ebay boxes being moved allowed him to sort our spare room (which should be a gym) and now is a fully functional gym without any ebay clutter :j . 2 shelving units went into the loft where they will be used for storage. the 2 x 2 drawer units which hold stationary etc have been moved from the spare room into the gap at the side of our wardrobes and behind the washing basket. i've now found a home for my teddy as he can live on top of the units:j .

he also made a start on the loft and came back down sweating buckets so i can't accuse him of not working hard:T .

meanwhile, i got the vax out and washed the living room and hall carpets and decluttered 2 tanks of dirty water:rotfl: . decluttered the living room by using a wicker basket to store all the games & controllers for the consoles. filled the shredder twice and recycled another bag of paper. filed away paperwork and finally saw the floating shelves which have been buried under paperwork for ages. now they have nice ornaments on them.

sorted our bedding, mil recently gave us an extra 3 sets and we only really like one, the other 2 will be ebayed. we now have 3 sets and the two not on the bed have been sorted by putting each set into one of their pillowcases.

by doing all of this we found more stuff to add to the ebay to be listed pile.:T

1 suit paid for and posted, still waiting for other one to pay

Bookcase and some t shirts have takers so I'm pleased - all should be going on Tuesday. Desks aren't taking up too much room in garage so if they don't sell now it's not the end of the world, will try again after holiday and then freecycle if all else fails!

Took a car full of cardboard from new furniture packaging to the tip last night so that's the garage a bit clearer.

Lots of shreading done too as I sort through things and loads of paper recycling like manuals in other languages and for things we no longer own  - this will all make it's way out slowly in recycling but I feel quite positive doing it.

Did bring in 5 books though :o Library were selling off fiction for 10p a book and couldn't resist, will charity shop them when I'm done though.

Well, surprise surprise, my disappearing ebay buyer has lodged a complaint about the item. I have asked them to return the item and I will refund. They reckon the item isn't working - yet it was working perfectly when I despatched it. Oh well.

I got the cheque through yesterday for the 3 mobile box! Also, 6 items have sold for £30 exc postage so I will pack these up today ready to despatch as soon as payments cleared.

I had my MBA presentation yesterday - what a lovely day it was too! We all got togged up, and then I had to put my hood and gown on. Mum, Dad, OH and inlaws came. We then met up with BiL and family for dinner - I had used a load of Tesco clubcard points to get £100 worth of restaurant vouchers so in the end 3 course dinner for £10 of us including drinks worked out £100.

No viewing on the house this weekend - I suspect everyone is having far too much fun in the sun!

No big decluttering today - there is little to declutter at OH's house! I am about to go around inlaws to raid our freezer stocks (we moved all our contents to their freezer as we had to put the big fridge freezer in the garage until we sell the house). I suppose this is a form of decluttering of their freezer!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Nothing much gone/going out this week - unless you count the large shopping bag that has been (and will be) filled from my recycling tubs for school each day (craft junk drive).

Quite a bit in though - but only temporarily - 3 boxes from mum for next weekends tabletop sale, a large bag of unsold clothes from the dress agency, and (over the next few days) eldest's new bed for his new room (in three big boxes ) and a couple of new toy stores -wonder if school will want what is sure to be loads of packaging

The toy-mess itself is getting there - we moved his wardrobe out of our room into there yesterday - which in turn meant we could reclaim our chest of drawers from the hallway (we're in a bungalow - not as strange as it sounds then, lol), and the gap for the bed has been cleared. Not many toys have left the house yet, but quite a lot is boxed ready for the weekend.

Out (hopefully) from next weekend - boxes of carboot/tabletop stuff, a cotbed plus accessories etc, a toy table, a new travelcot (unused gift), a car trailer (yes, we actually have an unused one in the garage  ), some outgrown garden toys and loads of various other bits and pieces - which will hopefully mean a few hundred pounds in :D

    On your marks .... :j
