Have filled a box full of bootsale stuff and put it on freecycle. Hopefully someone will be interested.
Strobe has gone up to £65!
10 disposable cameras have gone up to £7.50!
Have slung a load of old store catalogs (some 2004!) that OH has been stock-piling into the recycling.
Shredded some old bills today but I am still inundated in paper here.
Am going to list a load of architect magazines on ebay to see if I can make a few pennies out of them. Also have some diving and TopGear magazines. If they don't go, I will freecycle them. Will also be taking the Ideal Home mags to the local GPs to see if they can use them in reception.
OH has got two spare wheelie bins in the garage - one for rubbish, one recycling. I went on the local council site and they charge £87.50 for replacements if you need to buy them, so I am going to get them in the local paper to sell - I was going to give them away on freecycle, until I saw the cost!!! As we are moving completely out of the area, we won't have a need for them. Dad is bringing over the pressure washer this weekend, so after I have done the patio, I am going to blitz the wheelie bins and get an ad in the paper.
Will tell you something funny - as you know we have put OH's house on the market and OH's next door neighbours have been on sale since August 2007 but because they hadn't found anything to buy, they have had buyers come and go. Anyway, they hadn't done anything to their place until we went on the market, suddenly they have sprung into action - painting, decorating, etc etc. I caught the lady next door looking at our houses side by side the other night to compare what is different about our place! I don't think they have had a viewing since we went on the market. We are also priced £4k less!!! It has made OH and I giggle! Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Operation Empty the house is continuing today
Himself is working later today so I shall tag along and we will carry with us:
At least 1 bag of clothes for the charity shop.
Some books for the charity shop.
Some of my old work t-shirts to be returned to their place of origin which happens to be himself's work place too.
10 Lush pots to be exchanged for a fresh face mask for me and one for him.
I think I'll be getting the shopping trolley and a rucksack or two out to cart this lot in.0 -
£87.50 for a wheelie bin
In: 2 pairs of shorts and one pair of crop trousers. I now probably have just enough clothes to make it through the summer (as long as I don't find I need anything posh/smart)
Out: Nothing (I'm not bothering to include ordinary recycling with this anymore)0 -
Out .....................nothing
In........................small pot of plastic flowers -justified as it fits a little painted bucket that was craving for some sort of adornment..........lol
Miserably failed to fill charity bag in time for it being collected this morning.........my own fault.Mary

Evening All!
Been sorting paperwork today (still loads to plough through, though).
OUT:
carrier bag full of paper to recycle
bag full of shredding
IN:
nothing! :j
EBAY:
Bids still at £47.19 (4 items will sell, 3 items no bids) but 124 watchers  and they end Sunday evening. :T Let's hope some of them bid instead of watching!
Put on a further 3 items last night - all large garden items - no bids yet but 7 watchers and 9 days to go.
Can't wait to get rid of some stuff and make some money as well.
I have decided that as the Ebay items are the boys old garden toys that I will use the money towards a large trampoline for the garden. Going to surprise them so hope they like it! :j
Re the wheelie bin - are you sure that it doesn't belong to the property if you move? Would hate you to sell it and then have the council on your back.I always thought you left them when moving.
Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Oh this is the thread for me! May I join in please? My house is full to bursting with STUFF - a lot of it is useful/loved but so much is junk. Last weekend my in-laws gave my OH the most hideous metalware things - neither of us have any idea what to do with them but we can't ditch them as the in-laws will want to know where they are! Grrh.
Anyway today have been spring cleaning my finances and sorting stuff there but am also sorting out some eBay/Amazon/car boot stuff.
IN: nothing
OUT: Wheelie bin of recycling
5 prints sold on eBay posted
Listed books on Amazon.
More to go soon.0 -

My two new chest of drawers have arrived and I'm up to my oxters (armpits) in tops, bottoms and assorted others! Now I'm trying to decide if I should colour-sort the Tshirts (white in one drawer and blue in another etc) or if that's just a tad too OCD!!
There is so much also going out.. there's a pile for charity shop, a pile for school and a pile for the People's Kitchen. I've also found 3 lip balms, 4 packets of paracetamol and 3 half empty/full packets of chewing gum!!
I'm loving it....0 -
