Where has the week gone, can't believe it's nearly Friday! Had quite a good week of not spending much but.....

It's the viewing of the yard stuff tomorrow and it could go horribly wrong :)
Still no news on the land so it is weird thinking about buying stuff for it but I'm trying to tell myself it's just planning!

Well more time for horse if the worst happens on the job front! And have a fab time at the agric auction on sat.

I love those kind of auctions and go to any I can. The last one we went to, we left after a quick look round as there wasn't anything we were really after and the prices seemed high on the day. But then again, at previous ones we've bought a couple of bits that were bargins for sure! They are fun. A tip would be though to go through the catalogue beforehand and mark off what you might be interested in and do a bit of research beforehand via ebay and similiar as to what you might have to pay on there as at some of the auctions I've been to the bidding certainly has racked up on some stuff.

Enjoy the day and I look forward to hearing if you do buy a wheelbarrow for £100 ++:rotfl:
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Good tips, thanks Watty! There is a viewing thing today so going to have a nose later (my friend was going to come with me but she's just had an accident with her horse falling over and cutting all his legs so she's just waiting for the vet) so I'll need to look for both of us!
Will let you know how it goes!!

So as a follow on from Alchemilla's thread where we both admitted to using 'old' towels given to us for our pets for ourselves it got me wondering what the weirdest money saving thing you have done?!

    Here are some of mine:
Recycling food bags for dog poo bags:D
Using 'old' water from the kettle / glasses to water plants
Making a 'house' for my chicken feed (out of free wood) to save the chicken food getting wet and wasted
Collecting sticks when out for the wood burning.
Scraping old straw off the floor from yard for chicken bedding
Using the free papers from the train station for chicken bedding (we normally collect a dozen or so as we go past!)

So go on...what's the weirdest money saving things you do?? There's gotta be some weirder ones out there....

  • Bargainous is definitely a word, I try to live my life by it. Any idea what the hold up is with the land? Fingers crossed that this week brings you positive work news. x

Thanks Floppy - keeping my fingers crossed!!
The hold up is because of some conditions on the land that we can't build houses etc! I don't want to build a house but I guess they need to sort out the legals??
