I managed to sort out my Boys costumes today.
I went to Chesterfield Flea Market and bought a Harry Potter Cloak for £2! (with the Harry Potter School badge on) and some round joke glasses for £1.50 from a party shop. Also from the Flea market I got a brand new 2 piece Dragon costume (by Ladybird) for £5! :T

With world book day looming soon, has anyone got any good ideas for costumes. My 10 year old daughter has to dress up as a character from a book for school.
I am quite good on the sewing machine but am lacking in ideas. I have quite a tight budget.
Thanks:)

My daughter has wild dark curly hair and went as Tracy Beaker (red t-shirt/jeans) - the good thing is that the costume can be recycled as ordinary clothes! Another year she was Pippi Longstocking with her hair in braids and freckles painted on. We did Hermione too - again, big hair helps! (The one I really wanted to do but failed was Violet from a Series of Unfortunate Events - her dress in the film is amazing!) For my younger daughter I think this year it will be the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.0
