Really good start to the day. Well, apart from being on a day off with a stinking cold that is (typical Man Flu really, but as I have only had two days off sick in 10 years, I think I'm entitled to moan!).

My worries about not having enough money to pay my first installment to my DMP with CCCS have been brilliantly sorted out by them - I now can pay my first one at the end of March, so my DMP starts properly in April - which means I don't have any worries about not having enough money!

The next bit of good news is that I've talked to my mother about the money problems (dad will have to wait a while...) - she was obviously worried about the vast sums of debt, but I calmed her and explained the situation and she was fantastic about it all. Whether it was subsconsious I don't know, but I'd left some CCCS documentation around the house for her to 'find'. I honestly didn't want her to find out, or at least I didn't think so, but obviously fate decided otherwise.

    Anyway, it's a positive outcome.

One worry I had in the post today was from Barclays - with disturbing news about fraudulent use of my debit card from some !!!!!!. Looked at the details, and discovered it wasn't me! It was my brother card - he doesn't live with me, but has all his bank stuff still sent to the family home Phoned him up about it, so he can sort it out.

All in all, it's been a good day so far, and if I can get rid of this cold and go into work feeling good tomorrow, I'll be very happy indeed.

    Have a good day everyone!

That's brilliant about the payment JoeK. :T Hope you feel better soon. Now remember that you are a man so it is definitely not a cold, it is full blown flu. Don't whatever you do get out of bed or do anything for yourself. :rotfl:

I just rang Barclaycard. I expected a nice lady to tell me all was ok. However after going through 3 departments they told me they are still reviewing my proposals. They said it will probably be another week. That paniced me a bit. At the end of the day though they have been offered £22 a month and I owe them £3.5K. I owe Egg £6.5K and they have accepted £22 a month so I hope that Barclays will too. Have to stay positive. It was all going so well there. At least she didn't say the proposals had been rejected or try to get a payment out of me.

Good luck with Capital One Teecee. I've been reading good reports about them so hopefully you'll be fine.

Rang Capital 1 - very nice man, they said they they were not in possesion of a proposal from CCCS and a statement of I+E.
I told them that CCCS had agreed to send them again on Monday. He asked me if I knew what their proposal was so i told him the monthly amount and he said he would make a note of that.
He also said cccs "knew what they were doing" and were well respected so if thats what they had decided i should pay he couldn't see any problems at all with it being accepted!!
He then wished me the best of luck with my plan and told me not to worry, all interest was likely to be frozen but a definate yes or no would be sent through the post.:D

    THEN..................Rang Morgan Stanley
    They said yes no problem!!!!
payment plan accepted and interest frozen!!!!:T

    OH MY GOD !! I can't believe it , what a fantastic day!!!!!!!!!:j

    Hello all

These threads make great reading - feeling better already. DMP due to start in April, received the letter from the CCCS today telling me they have now written to my creditors. I also wrote to them, like you're supposed to, telling them what was gonna happen, but they didn't respond to me. Is that normal? I know they received the letters cos they were recorded and I included a goodwill postal order in some of them which are showing on my account. Do they respond to you when the CCCS has been in touch with them?

Or do they just deal with the CCCS direct?

    Thanks all

It can take a while for them to get back to you. I certainly haven't received anything back from my creditors yet (apart from automated "pay now" things!), so I wouldn't worry.

I going on the assumption that not hearing from them is better than anything else!
