Morning.
Luckily i think she only has a bug as she did not eat at all yesterday. She is on the sofa feeling all sorry for herself at the moment. I think the bottom lip is even touching her toes. Poor thing :kisses3:
Done menu for the week and now off to do the shopping for it all.

Hi.
Just got back from shopping for the week. 2 adults and 2 children. Came to £45.72  .
Would have been less but we had to stock up with staple stuff. ie herbs etc for my venture into cooking from scratch. Als OH has discovered home baking so had to buy a lot of stuff for that.
Alert money saving tip. Do not go shopping with eldest DD. The only sprinkles that would do for her home made bisciut's were Barbie. They alone cost £1.98   .
Still she was very helpfull today helping her yellowmonkey daddy
Speak soon

Hiya guys, not popped in for a while so just posting to say hiya.
Hope everything is going well for you all.
Iv just spent the afternoon baking for packed lunches for this week as i am down to my last £2 in purse, so far have made jam doughnuts, flapjack ,oh and have the cheapest rice pudding in slow cooker for after tea, plus breadmaker on for toast for supper.
Ds2 is on hoilday with his grandparents in Malta so have one less to cook for which is saving me abit this week.
My dmp still going well, nothing to report which is nice, another creditor cleared this month, so felling really positive plus have done my annual review for tax credits and think they owe me some money, just have to keep fingers crossed until they sort it out.
Catch up with you all soon

Hi dlb i was thinking about you today when we were talking about sticking to the shopping budget. Glad your DMP is going well, how long have you been on your dmp? Could you please give me the recipe for the slow cooker rice pudding? ive looked on the OS board for one but cant find it.

YM you did well with the shopping. I cant get mine down to less than £100 a week (slapped wrist for me). 4 kids, 14yrs, 13yrs, 2yrs, 1yr and two adults. I always cook from scratch hubby takes pack up.0

Hiya amani,
Iv now been on dmp for 15 months and still agree that its the best move we ever did. All the stress and worry gone, and an end in sight, even if it is only just in sight!!
My recipe for slow cooker rice pud as follows, so easy.
This seaves 4 huge bowls or 8 small sensible bowls!!
4oz pudding rice
2pt milk
2tbsp sugar
pinch( or loads if your me) nutmeg
Pop all into slow cooker leave on low for about 5-7 hours.Yummy
Serve with cheap value chocoalte buttons or jam!!
I still find meal planning the key to saving money on shopping, i still only meal plan for the week ahead and shop on a monday for everything i need until sunday. I have started having a milkman, which has made it easier as havent ran out of milk and know how much to budget for, if i end up with to much i freeze it or make rice pudding!!!LOL.
Hows it all going for everyone else.?Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -

Does your £100 a week include toiletries ect?
I still manage to shop for approx £50-£60 a week for the 4 kids and 2 adults, and that includes toiletries and pack up for kids and hubby.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Thanks amani.
What i have done is a list of everything in my cupboard and freezer and am working my meals around that.
No doubt i will have to restock freezer at some point but i am determined to stick to this meal plan thing.
Horrible weather down souf. Thunderstorms and everthing. Am at work again but very quite hence the post

I agree with dlb. Meal planning is the key. It seems to be the only thing i can reduce quickly and see some relevant savings
