gsdddk when you are on a DMP dont your creditors have a list of all your creditors? if so when you have a revue after 6 months with CCCs/payplan would they send new ones out again and they would see if any had been payed off????

Gemsay, I have wondered about trying to pay off one but advice seems to suggest it is fairer to pay a lump sum in and that will be divided up. That way you keep the all banks happy. I am wondering about trying to pay off a bank that doesn't agree to Payplan's proposals. Not sure if that would upset other banks. I have some money in shares, currently all at a loss so don't want to sell, but may find one in profit soon you never know. Any thoughts on clearing one at some point would be welcome.

I don't know. I guess Payplan/CCCS must list out your debts and percentages paid to each one so they know they are being dealt with fairly or something?? If they just send out your expenses then each of the creditors will say but they have £x left why aren't we getting all of it - so they must be told what the rest of the debt is and what percentage of that they will get.

I was just saying what others on these threads have said - I don't have any lump sum to pay anything off so don't have any experience of it!! ;)

Amani, not sure if I thanked you for the nice welcome the other day. Appreciated. XX
Re how would they know. With Payplan I believe they can access your details on the justabank website. So would see if a bank had disappeared off the list and if there were changes of any size. Happy to be wrong on that but fairly sure it is correct.
  • A-ha. Ok, that's fine. Well it doesn't matter really. I can do either way. Just thought it would be easier if I paid them off one-by-one. Roll on Sept.

    afternoon everyone,

Right, post has just been, had a letter from halifax for the CC saying they will except an agreed payment of £24.00 (currently paying them £24.76 through CCCs) and will suspend further action on the CC account for 12 months (but can withdraw arrangement at any time). They are asking me to pay them through the normal channels or call them and pay them by Debit/Credit card. does this mean they have excepted the DMP or what???????????? I will scan it and email to CCCs anyway.(I can do that also JOEK) :p

best thing to do with a lump sum is to start a savings a/c and wait for a f+f or the other creditors will find out and itll go against you, or you could review your budget and higher the payments for , say, 6 months then review.that way, its fair to all.
