Hi Everybody.- Hope all is well

In debt again but dealing with it: I claimed my bank charges back from HSBC in May last year. They only sent me one letter offering me far less than I was owed which I declined. I then filed the moneyclaim online which they acknowledged and then I received a cheque within a few days for the full amount. So don't worry about not hearing anything in this case no news can be good news. Just stick to your timetable and you will have all your money back soon!!!!

huntress: Love your avatar, it's very cool!

I received a letter today from a debt collection company 'Global Vantage' they have been passed my details by my A & L credit card. I have missed one payment and they are sending a letter saying you must pay the £18 payment that you owe. I couldn't believe it my minimum payments are far more with all my other creditors but A&L are the ones to pass to a DCA.

My day then got worse as my daughter fell over and smacked her head on the corner of the wall and I had to take her to hospital. Luckily she only has one steristrip on it but it's got a huge bruise all round it. I just wanted to cry.

Anyway back to looking after my nephew who is being potty trained at the moment- Oh Joy!

    Everybody take care- Sweety

  • Afternoon old timers and newbies,

sea - keep strong you can do it.
sweety83 - hope your daughter is ok .My eldest son had done the same at school,it's frightening though when you see it but give it time it will dissapear.

Not too bad at the moment taking each day at a time.Bank holiday phone kept ringing all the time, namely Argos and Cahoot.Oh kept ringing them back only for their answer phones to say they are not open til TUESDAY????

A Letter again from NORTHERN ROCK,asking us to not ignore letter etc, which we have never ignored letters or calls.Hubby for first time got through to a lovely lady and explain we were on a DMP etc..Compared to other Northern rock advisers who were complete morons she was lovely so there is hope.

We had some brillant news one of our highest creditors accepted our offer for a limited time but it's a start.

Lloyds are still being a pain they are ringing up ,writing etc, adding lots of interest ,but won't listen that we are on a DMP.They told me last night they will keep on phoning till we pay up ???????????

Egg have done no postal letters, just emails. They have said i have 28days to find the balance, they then will register it as a DEFAULT if i don't etc...

    many thanks for listening

    Hi Everyone :D

    Welcome im69andClairee.

Sweety - Hope your DD is okay, bangs on the head are frightening aren't they!

crafting queen - Hang in there they will get the message eventually!!

Clairee - A DMP is a Debt Management Plan. Your monthly income and expenditure are listed then whatever surplus you have each month is distributed to each of your creditorson a pro-rata basis. Some people enter self administrated DMP's. However many people go through a third party such as CCCS( consumer credit counselling service) or Payplan as these two organisations act on your behalf for free.
If you are considering a DMP I would suggest to contact either CCCS (thats who i'm with and they are fab!!) or Payplan. I would advise NEVER go to a company that charges for their services. With CCCS and PP you know that the whole amount is going towards paying off the debt and not to a company only interested in making a profit.

Hope everyone else is ok and having a stress-free day.

All is quiet in teecee world.

    Everything running smoothly:j

Made my first payment to CCCS yesterday. Big moans from the bank as you are meant to take money out of the cash point not the counter (£250 max so that wasn't enough). They have done away with the counters and only have ONE cashier counter now so the queue was huge.

Got a letter from Mint saying thanks for letting us know, here's details of what you owe on your card and we will issue a default for you under separate letter (already received).

My old bank has closed my two (empty) savings accounts, which I requested when I sent them notification. Everything else is quiet.

    Hi

Hello to old and new hope you are all well :D

Home from work now and no post so not to bad. No messages on answer phone either.

Me thinks calm before the storm :o

I am going to have to dig out my phone instructions as i am sure i have a record facility. Extra weapon for the creditors to be nice. It is my Kryponite and will bring them to their knees in agreement. :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Speak soon.

Our DMP is being set up by Payplan at the moment. They seem to be getting things moving and we paid our first instalment yesterday. We are concerned about them not being able to reach agreement with everyone (all credit card companies - no other debt apart from mortgage) but have learned that even if banks pass on to collection agencies we should be able to reach agreements with them. We had/have reached the point where we couldn't meet the min. payments each month.

Just posting to say hello really but this looks the sort of forum where you can get useful advice and help. I have already learned a lot by just reading through a few threads.

Very stressful time but feeling a bit happier now I understand how some of this works.

    Welcome Dr Jekyll

It is all a bit scary at first but hang in there you have made the first step by starting a DMP and facing your debts, so well done:T

We are all on DMP's on this thread so if there is anything you are not sure about or even if you just want a chat just ask away and someone will be along to help if they can.

Good Luck, welcome to our little virtual family.
