Hi everyone
Bit of a mixed day here for me. Took DS into town as I promised him we would have a day together. Spent £5 in the pound shop on shampoo, chamois leather, sweets and 2 of the moneyboxes you can only open with a tin opener. The first shop we went into was Past Times as it is straight ahead when you come out of the car park. They have a sale on at the moment and DS saw some Egyptian magnets he really wanted reduced to £3. I said if he waited until we had been everywhere else and he didn't see anything else he would rather have then he could get them on the way back to the car. He did see other things he wanted but they were all over the £3 mark so he eventually got the magnets.
Then this evening I went over my DH's accounts as we seem to have 'lost' almost £1000 this month. He usually manages to pay in about £250 a week into the bank account but it hasn't happened this last month so we were trying to figure out if we had been paying for things cash rather than the money going into the bank first but it looks more like April just wasn't a good month for him at all. After fees, petrol and a lot of work 'on account' it worked out he 'earned' less than £3.20 per hour. NOT GOOD!!! Especially with the mortgage, council tax and gas all having gone up this month too. Hopefully May will be better but I have started to fill out an application form to work 2 days a week at the local primary helping with the special needs kids. He could earn a lot more money if he worked as a kitchen porter or stacking shelves in Tesco's but he loves driving and the flexibility of hours he has just now but he has promised to look at the job ads on Friday.
Going to Edinburgh tomorrow to do a Costco shop and to check out beds for DD at ikea. Not buying the bed yet but want to try out the mattresses etc so that we know which one we are going to get her once her room is finished and how much we are going to have to find. My £2 jar is going towards our camping holiday on Mull but as it is doing better than expected we might also be able to use it for her bed too.
The Costco shop is budgetted for and is for 4 months supply of washing powder, mince, cubed steak, jam, vanish, dishwashing tabs, fish, cheese and vinegar. Should come to just under £160. I am usually quite happy to get just about everything from Lidl or Tesco except for the meat. You just can't beat the quality of Costco meat but to make the trip worthwhile we get the other stuff there too as we can get the branded items cheaper and it is also the only place we can get the vinegar in bulk and we DFW's like our vinegar in bulk don't we?:rotfl:
Good grief just checked the length of this post. I don't post very often these days but when I do they tend to be an epic. It's not the quantity but the quality that counts:rotfl:
Congrats YM on the 250th, and I must admit to having a hankering over Jon Bon Jovi too. And then of course there was a certain drummer in a local rock band when I worked on the west coast mmmmmmmmmmmm:DThe person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Hello all!! :hello: Long time no post I know - been away at my mum's this weekend.
Hi to all newbies and hugs to the regulars having difficulties, so I can't reply to everyone but there is no way I can sit and read all the posts I've missed!
I've had no post today (strange) but have still been getting HSBC ringing about the managed loan they want me to get so will have to ring CCCS about that shortly. I think Barclaycard are ok, although they keep ringing me. The others I've not heard from so am asssuming all ok.
