    Hi Smile et al,
After a few days or a week or so they sussed I wasn't dead so started phoning again. Can't remember what happened after that- I re-mortgaged 2 years ago (ca 50k in debt - luckily I had loadsa equity!, shame is my mortgage went from 8-25 years remaining  and from £320 a month to £811 - bad decision!) so maybe that was it...

  • Afternoon all
Still have the cloud over my head, feeling down, lethargic and just not a happy bunny - which is a real pain considering how good the weather is (although cloudy this afternoon) and its bank holiday weekend. Smiling for other people but don't think its reaching my eyes if you know what I mean ... hopefully its just that time of the month!! Thanks for your good wishes - my ancient computer not allowing me to thank you all personally - doh!!
Have had three call today and absolutely dreading tomorrow think they'll attack with avengence (grr) but will be ringing abbey to see whats going on with my statements!! I'm tempted to write to HSBC again and remind them of the DMP and also to stop the phone calls. Anyway got to go and baste the lamb (didn't roast it yesterday so having it today ... mmm). Chat later.
love and hugs to you all

  • all my debt is with them, o/d = £1,600 (ish) but claiming back bank charges of over £2,000 (!!), cc = £8,600 and personal loan = £20,000. The really irritating thing is I only had a £3,000 cc back in 2005 and they've upped my limit then offered consolidation on 2 occasions each time its cost more cause it included unnecessary ppi and interest. First loan June 2005 £8,000, cleared cc and o/d, then they upped the limit on cc to £5,000 (swore I wouldn't use it again lol), 2nd loan April 2006 £13,500 (although with ppi and interest it was actually £22,500 - didn't realise that in the beginning doh!)repaid first loan and cleared cc and o/d AGAIN!! ALARM BELLS CLANGING BUT I IGNORED IT!! They upped my cc limit again to £8,500 (SWORE I WOULDN'T USE IT -AGAIN LOL) and so here I am in debt to the tune of £29,600. Wasn't forced to spend but was encouraged to believe I could afford it!! I hate banks particularly HSBC and even though I am ultimately responsible for the debt I still believe they have a part to play!! Sorry 95kelly rant over.

    Hi
craftingqueen. I too was also dreading the letters/calls etc. They have just started for me. The way I look at it is that at least things are now moving on and progress is being made. I kept my head in the sand for too long ,and weird as it seems, it is nice that at least things are moving to a conclusion. Good luck to you and stay strong.

    Hello everyone!!
IDA: HSBC were the same with me and everytime i phoned up to ask them something they tried everytime to consolidate me!!! I only originally borrowed £1500 with a personal loan and now ive ended up with an £8000 loan! Everytime they added on more money for spending and stuff, i know i wasn't forced to take it but they make it seem so easy and affordable! If it wasn't for the fact that i actually dropped my credit limit on my CC then they would of given me neary £3000 on that aswell!
But luckily i dropped it to £500.my sensible moment!!
Everywhere else i.e Halifax never once offered to raise my limit in the two years i had a CC with them, they kept it to what it was originally! Just makes me think HSBC are a bit 'free ' with there borrowing if you know what i mean!!
YM: HSBC definately don;t care when they call you, i had 9 calls on good friday!!!
    Hope all ok
    lots love Kelly x x
