    Good morning all

    Check this.

I sent my first letter to HSBC claiming bank charges on the 19th Feb. I got the bog standard letter back stalling for time which I allowed them as I frankly didn't want to go to Court. I heard nothing and did not send out any more letters.

Last night got a letter from HSBC offering to settle my claim for £470. My entire bank charges.

This will have to be paid into my HSBC a/c but at least that takes my overdraft down.

Will I need to tell the CCCS, not that I want to hide it but will my other Creditors get shirty if it looks as if I have paid a wad of greenbacks to HSBC and nobody else?

Needless to say I skipped to work this morning, well, maybe more of a brisk walk and the occasional heel click.

Congrats on your good news. Cant assist as to what you do with the money. I think I am going to send off a claim myself with Nat West. Had an account with them and accrued loads of charges. No longer have the account so nothing to lose I suppose.

    Once again well done :T

I have a car just now. But its MOT and tax run out this month and dunno if I can afford to get any work done on the car (it is 18 years old and rusty, let alone anything else). Was contemplating booking a couple of nights in a London hotel but that seems to be £300+ (and then you have to add on eating out, train fare etc). So I just don't know

Book your room through laterooms.co.uk and your meal through toptable.co.uk - it doesn't have to cost that much at all. A good tip is to stay outside of the centre near a good tube/train station.

Hi guys. Am £16k in debt and about to start DMP with CCCCS, what a relief there website was. I feel physically sick at the thought of creditor letters and calls, dreading the postman etc! BUT will repeat the mantra I CANNOT PAY WHAT I DO NOT HAVE. My only concern is my repayments are only £88 spread between 6 creditors...will they really accept such a small amount?

    Thanks YM

I suspect it can only be used to lower my overdraft but as I am in the business of paying off all my debts that is no bad thing.

You should definately give it a go, as I said it wasn't a priority for me as I was more intent on gettng my CC's sorted but I did it and it has proved to be a very welcome bonus.

If that's all you can afford, they will have to. I think CCCS accept people who are paying just £5 to their creditors. It may be hard, and you will probably be hassled, but I'm sure if CCCS have taken you on, they will fight for you all the way. And they highly regarded on this site too...

    Hi

Crokeria. Cant really assist with CCCS as I have just started myself with DMP. I would like to say well done on facing up to your problem and dealing with it. No doubt someone will be along soon to assist

    franny

Thanks for the advice I think I will give it a go. Since I have started this DMP it has given me the courage now to do things I would have never got around to.
