  • Oh Teecee I so agree, I was in admin for years then school librarian (which I loved) for another 10 and just felt at 41 it was now or never, took the bull by the horns and here I am. DFW is definately the icing on the cake and possibly my inspiration in many ways - life is not a rehersal as they say, didn't want to reach retirement and wonder what else could I have done.
Life definately starts at 40 - although in my case 41 (I always was a little slow!!).

Good on you guys! I had only been in my previous job for two years before I decided to make the massive move into education (frowned on my my financial wizz kid peers), but that was still a bit scary. I'm only 25, but I think I still would have done it if I was 55.

IDAAS - I'm a maths teacher (you would think with my financial background I'd be able to manage my finances!), so give me a shout if you need a hand with the GCSE maths stuff... I'll do anything I can to help out my DFW buddies :hello:

Blimey Gemmzie - looks like you're a busy bee! Are you doing it full or part-time? How do you find the time to do it? Teaching involves so much work at home. I really want to study towards something else but don't think I could fit it in, although it would be more a leisure thing, so I guess it's not a big deal.

    Good luck with it.

Ive had a busy day again at work and i think if i didn't need the money i would have walked out today!!! Nevermind!!
Anyway no phonecalls today:j , but waiting for tomorrow for some more letters i expect!!
I had a thought today, why is there so many days to buy for, i.e Valentines, Mothers, then Fathers, then Easter, then Birhtdays and then you have to think about saving for Christmas, its just never ending, i don't think i will ever have any money, unless i win the lottery of course!!
And then i think if i saved the money i put on the lottery id be richer than actually playing it!!!!:rotfl:

Seem to have missed this post when it was first done, but still. My DMP starts 1 April, wrote to creditors last week, and hoping they all accept easily. Also chasing Capital One and HSBC for refund of my charges, so I guess if they cotton onto that they might not be so nice for my DMP. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Good luck with it all, everyone
